What's your weather Like December 2023

Oh well our surprise dry day was lovely yesterday back to rain today. So very soggy underfoot and we still.have a ' river' running along our lane!!

Many thanks for the picture of my cousin @shiney much appreciated.

The rain's coming down again this morning as I type; at least it's not bouncing up again as it usually does. Everything outside is awash but it's better than snow and ice so I'm happy.

10 o'clock last night it was so windy I brought the 30 plants back into the extension to prevent them being damaged. Having tormented me the wind dropped and it's now calm.

After a 5:30 am start yesterday I did manage to visit Hampson's Garden Center in Wakefield where I bought three bags of general purpose compost; Bron wasn't feeling well after we visited our friend in Ossett in the morning so I was on my own. Bron enjoys card making so I raided Hampson's craft section and back home gave Bron a nice surprise; I'd wandered around picking up lots of things I know Bron likes; it was really nice to make her day.

These 30 plants are becoming a liability I want them in the garden; with the garden usually submerged or frozen solid I thought I'd at least plant some of them in spite of all this heavy rain; the compost bags are sealed so perhaps the rain will allow me to quickly fill planters and plant a few before the compost is under water; lots of drainage in the planter bottoms; fingers crossed.

When I broadcast wildflower seeds in the meadows I have a choice of Autumn or Springtime; I choose March but I do see tiny seedlings late in the year and these seem to survive without problem.

Two consecutive days of sunshine next July if we enjoy such a long summer there will be a water shortage and hosepipe ban not that many in Yorkshire own an hosepipe. I always sound to be knocking Yorkshire but in reality I love living here Yorkshire is just so wonderful.

Gentle breeze and dry after heavy overnight rain, very dark, more rain likely later I think8 degrees so not cold.

 

Morning all dark and dismal 7c pouring down again.

 

It was sunny all morning but now there is some cloud, 15c.

 

Real feel temperature 5C; heavy rain. There's an ark sailing down the streets further down the hill. Hmmm...

 

Rain stopped midday, some sunshine now and 13c.

 

Hi,

I blinked at dinnertime and almost missed the sun; it's pouring down with very wet rain; I know because I've just spent an hour working in it. Cold; breezy; very dark and very very wet; is this the best it can do because I'm not at all bothered as I sit here drying out and getting warm.
