There was a tremendous downpour at 5am. Then it cleared up and the sun appeared for rest of the morning. Now a thunderstorm has passed over with lightning and heavy rain. Fairly mild at 9c

        Hi,

Currently forecast drizzle and overcast later; how would I know it is overcast when it's been dark all day; it's now also foggy; it doesn't feel cold though just rather cool. We've enjoyed a shower too.

        Kind regards, Colin.

Still 7 degrees and it's rained all day, rivers rising, but it is forecast to be dry the rest of the week, they have also announced parts of Scotland will have a white Christmas.

I'm not the only one here with a fair few decades (a matter for celebration!) under my belt, and I can't recall a year with such consistently wet and cloudy weather. I was abroad during the mid-60s to '70s, so perhaps then? Last night and for much of today, heavy rain and 9C.

I find that www.weather.com is by far the most accurate forecaster, especially for rainfall, closely followed by the Apple weather app. The Met Office has been consistently dire, as far as I'm concerned. I emailed them many years ago and asked if they ever actually looked out of the window. To their credit, they replied "no".

More or less as forecast at 6am. We had a couple of light showers & the odd patch of brightness & that about sums up the day! No strong winds , no rain to speak about neither did the sun come out for more than a few minutes & the temps were around the forecast at about 11C.

Climate change is to blame it seems we will get wetter and warmer(comparatively) winters.

Until we get a cold spell, then we are told to expect more of those, then we get a hot spell, in summer, and are told we will get more of those, I could go on, but I wont.

There's not a lot that can be done outside at this time of year @Retired so it doesn't bother me. However, come the summer months it doesn't get completely dark overnight and sunset is just before 11pm. My neighbours though, wouldn't be happy with me mowing lawns at that time of night. Well, apart from the horses in the field next door.

Today has been dark and grim again with drizzle. It's still calm but that will change as the week goes on. The daytime temperature seems to be stuck at 4C/39F at the moment.
