      4 degrees and mostly dry all day, we even saw a small patch of blue sky and sunshine, looks like it might snow looking out of the window, forecast is for dry and bright tomorrow.

        We had a cold, windy day with temps no higher than about 7C. We also had a few showers, especially a really heavy one around 2pm. I didn't see or hear it but I saw the balcony was very wet & that a big puddle had formed on the other side of the road from us. I generally judge the rain from its size & it was about as big as it ever gets. Also all the grass verges were practically bogs! After that we had some light drizzle but most of the pm it has been cloudy & cold.

          @Retired it's amazing the amount of people that think the weather is worse here in the Highlands than the rest of Britain. It's a fallacy. The west of Inverness-shire is wetter but I live nearer the east coast which is dryer and until this year, which has been very wet, we've been in drought throughout spring and summer. Every year my hosepipe is in use around the garden - with the exception of this year. Lower Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow etc. seems to get the worst of the weather. Yes, we have snow every winter but not the amounts you would think and it doesn't stop us from travelling. Summers are a bit cooler and not as long as in England, but that suits me as I don't like the heat.

          Fog here today limited itself to the valley beyond my garden. The sun shone all day and the sky was blue. 3C/37F

          Edit: Oh, and there's no midges here either, they're either west or further north. :biggrin:

              A cold but dry start to the day here but we are forecast rain from 8am to 10am then possibly light showers during the day. Max temps for today is only expected to be around 7C.

                      Hi,

                      Many thanks @Sheal for your informative and interesting reply;it just shows how wrong the weather forecasters are; listening to the weather forecasts on TV; Scotland is a lot worse than Yorkshire regarding wind; heavy rain and snow; lots of Scotland has power failures mid winter too but you give an honest opinion because you live there; thanks again for enlightening me; it's definitely grim here in Yorkshire most of the year; I know; I live here. :dbgrtmb:

                      This is interesting; two weather forecasts for us today; it doesn't cost me £M's to look out of the window.

                      I like Carol she brightens my day;

                      No doubt she'll have a different forecast for us today.

                      It poured down during the night so we're submerged again; I'm considering fitting the rotavator I'm restoring with a rudder. :heehee:

                      Kind regards, Colin.

                        A slight frost here but the patio is dry and free from frost. Not the slightest hint of a breeze and the temperature is supposed to soar to a massive 7C.

                        I like Carol as well. :)
