Good morning all. A very cloudy beginning to the day here & the wind can be heard though it is only half of what is forecast for tomorrow! It's dry and will stay like that all day. Temps now 7C but expected to climb as high as 10C & that's what it is expected to be like for most of the time till about 5am tomorrow.

A new weather forecast has invited itself to the top left corner of my monitor; it's AccuWeather and it looks excellent for a change;



I've just been outside to refresh the water dishes and yes I agree it certainly feels like -3C

There's little difference between night and day here @wiseowl; it was dark and perishingly cold all day yesterday; before even getting up this morning I could hear cars splashing their way along the street; usually a good indication of what the day will be like.

Just over 7 hours of daylight; it's a joke because it often doesn't get light. It's daylight and warm though in the workshop or studio so I have choices; I can even go outdoors and do some paddling in the puddles if I can stand the cold so all in all another nice day in Yorkshire.

Still quite dark here, cloudy and 5 degrees, off out for breakfast with a friend at the local distillery.........................(they do have a cafe )

 

The sun broke through but the cloud quickly covered it, but 13c now and breezy.

The weather app was wrong again this morning! I posted that it was very cloudy & I thought the app was correct, even when I looked out of the bedroom window about 630am. The sky seemed to me to be cloudy as I couldn't see Venus, which is directly in front of the bedroom windows. But when I looked out again about 7am I saw the sky was almost clear! I suppose it's possible for it to clear in about half an hour but it seems unlikely.

The sky was almost clear & we had sunshine till about 8.30am or so when the clouds began to encroach on the clear skies. In about an hour the sky was covered & that was almost the end to the sunshine for today; yet it did manage to squeeze out a few rays now & again during the morning but I didn't notice any during the afternoon.

We haven't had any rain today nor is any forecast for tonight or tomorrow. Temps have been quite reasonable all day with a max of around 12C, very good for the middle of December! Overnight & for most of tomorrow we can expect temps to be around 10C. The wind has been more noticeable today & I can hear it blowing strongly outside as I write this! We have a yellow wind warning for the day tomorrow but we are on the lower edge of the yellow warning area so we won't be so bothered as people further north than us.
