It looks like a beautiful sunny day with 18c, however the sharp gusty breeze makes it feel brrrr like.

Good to know that we only have 17 more storms to come after this one, this winter.:roflol:

Its slowly clouding over here now after a mostly sunny morning.
          9c.
Its really quite calm at the moment.

We’ve also gone to RED wind warning for tonight and tomorrow morning, with AMBER and YELLOW either side.

I'm just on the edge of the amber warning here. Have been out in the drizzly twilight moving all the pots off my patio and into a sheltered corner between the house and the fence. Dismantled my little plastic cold frame - this morning I found it had moved across the garden despite being pegged down, but the ground is so soft after all the rain it offers no resistance - and moved it to safety. Fingers crossed - think I'll spend tomorrow with curtains drawn and earplugs in trying to ignore what's happening locally, whilst watching live streams of aircraft trying to land ...

Red warning here also - damaging winds and floods. I'm supposed to be going to our art group Christmas dinner in Llandeilo but I may not venture outside if it's too bad.

Had a Government Alerts thingy on phone re the RED warning.

Did a quick garden check and shoving of things into corners. Charging bits and bobs in case of power outages. Bit worried in case my elderly Dad has a power cut. I hope the SM doesn’t cancel my click and collect tomorrow.

                      Take care folks.

My sister just got the red weather warning alert on her phone (she's in North Wales). She said it made a horrendous noise, I suppose it's so that people don't miss it.

It's pelting down rain here but I'm fairly sure it won't come to anything damaging - at times like this I'm glad we live in a drier area, even though I moan about lack of rain in the summer.

I got the red weather warning too, but I'm not in the red zone. The north coast of Somerset is, and I am about as far south as you can go in the county, so maybe it just went out to the whole of Somerset.

The controls don't have batteries @simone_in_wiltshire, they're hardwired. They are for setting up the boiler either with timer, on/off and water, but I have a complicated system that controls two different parts of the bungalow. The electrician was here three hours this evening fitting and setting up the new controls. It's nice to be warm again. :)

A grey day followed by heavy rain this evening. Top temperature today 5C/41F.

We're escaping the worst of the weather up here over the weekend, but I hope all of you further south don't suffer too much damage.

Nice to hear that it's fixed and you have it cosy again.
I had to buy new AAA batteries for our controls and to look at YT how to change them. This was the time when I gave ViewAhead advice to run a test with the new boiler in summer without looking at our own controls. Once the temperature dropped, I saw that the batteries were dead.

I have to say here is no storm at all. Has it been cancelled? The BBC says 60 mph but we have nothing.
We don't even have the 40mph as wetteronline says we had currently and their radar is normally very precise.
The MetOffice says 25mph which sounds realistic. Apart from the one gale we just had for a few seconds.

Would be good if that stays like that. Let's see what happens when the sun rises.
