We've had a thorough soaking and winds seem not too bad at the moment, although in the night a large wooden pallet flipped over. That would need a very big gust of wind.

Pressure dropped to 975, not sure if that's quite low.

Going out later to the SM, when winds pick up to 60mph. I will take a wheelie bin bag to cover the shopping trolley, that's if we get there.

    The airport is still operating.

Rain is going to be heavy at 10am. It's just started again.

    Tomorrow doesn't look much better.

    Hope everyone is OK

It's been very windy and wet here, and is still very dark. We aren't quite in the red alert area but my husband got the phone warning anyway. (my phone is too old) Apparently it was really warm in the middle of the night but has dropped back again. Not far away there used to be a leylandii hedge but it was let grow and became a row of hundred(at least) foot high trees. Half of them blew down early this morning. Fortunately they went diagonally and have landed in field and garden rather than causing yet another blocked main road!

Very rough indeed down here, winds gusting to 90km/h with squally rain. Our Belgian neighbours have returned to Belgium for the winter, they have one of those above ground swimming pools, I don't think the cover is going to last in this wind even though it was securely tied down, it's billowing very well!

We are forecast 50 mph winds, I don't think it's quite there yet, but wet and wild, take care all.

It’s been very windy here but we are ok so far. I think severe wind is the most frightening of the weather extremes as it’s unpredictable and can be very damaging.

My SM collection was cancelled so I’ve re-booked for tomorrow.

Take care and stay indoors folks.

Very windy with big gusts. Raining as well so a bit unpleasant outside. Take care those that are in the Red Warning area.

Strong winds and rain from the north west temp 8c feels like 1c
There was a tree that came down on the main road earlier, but now it's been moved.

As normal, in the east we aren't getting it anything like the intensity the west coast is seeing. In norwich last night it was pretty windy and we had spells of heavy rain. This morning it's a wet with a very cold wind but not that breezy. We had a few trees down in the last storm but not much damage in the local woods yet from this one.

We have had a spell of heavy rain and the temperature has dropped from 9c to 6c in the last hour or so.
Wind has dropped slightly now as well, following the track of the storm it has a kind of eye, nothing on the scale that hurricanes get, but an area of lighter winds in the centre which is positioned around Norfolk at midday.

As usual the winds are strongest on its southwestern edge, so likely to pick up again as it moves away into the North Sea.

Very windy and wet here and the amber warning has been extended to 11 pm tonight. We've got gusts of 50-60 mph forecast but our weather forecaster thingie is not showing that bad. We managed to sleep through the worst of it as we were just on the edge of the red warning. The gardens ok, the trees still upright and the old fences are holding.

Like others very windy and wet last night, currently very windy with little rain. Amber warning lifts 2100 tonight and yellow warning lifts 0600 tomorrow. Still going to be a windy day tomorrow though.
Fortunately the wind is coming from the northwest and my garden is relatively sheltered from that direction.

We are into just an Amber warning now, and yellow for tomorrow. I have a massive Ash tree on the north-west corner of the house, so that’s been my main worry.

I think we have the worst behind us with the occasional wind blows but overall like typical English weather. Last time was heavier and noisier than last night. Thanks goodness!
