Whats Your Weather Like December 2024

Cool this morning, but not frosty. At the moment there's light cloud with a few hints of brightness, but the forecast is for cloud all day. Maybe a bit brighter tomorrow with some rain in the evening, then turning colder for a couple of days and then milder again in time for Christmas.

 

Winter solstice is 21st December this year, tomorrow morning, 9:20. It doesn't always fall on the same calendar day.

 

A rather dull 7 degrees that feels a lot cooler in the breeze, high winds forecast for the weekend with a fair amount of rain about.

 

We've got another weather warning for tomorrow - heavy rain and gales but that's quite normal for here
Heavy rain predicted for this afternoon too apparently, so I went early to the open air market in the local town, for vegetables and laver bread

 

It is all blue skies and 14c feeling much cooler with a sharp breeze ... the cats don't like it out ... she is eating linch and he is on the back of my chair waiting to jump in my lap.

 

It is up to 26f -3c and snow has been blowing about for a few hours. The accumulation is now only about 4 inches so not a big deal however I do want to grill some things on the BBQ so I'll shovel that little bit to make a path to it.

The guessers say we won't be getting much warmer and by Sunday we'll be down around the 8f -12c mark.

Finally, a normal winter!

We are in for a "normal" Christmas for here ...

The old saying over here is, its too cold to snow.

 

Its been a bright but cold feeling day, it took most of the day to get to 7c and the wind getting up all the time.
Pretty cloudy now as it gets dark.

 

Well, they've changed their guess again. They say the night will be 6f -13c and during the day it will rise up to 16f -8c and we will get some sunshine.

And no, @AuntyRach , I will not be sunbathing, I'm not that kind of Canuck

 

I was told like many others that we get a high and 11c.
I was busy in the town centre at noon time. OH decided to drive me to it and does some shopping in the meantime. What a blustery wind and cold.
OH who got my cold 3 days after I caught it, didn't feel well enough to lurk around the stones. My hope was that we are in Avebury when it's empty and say hello to the stones.
It might be that I will be heading on my own this morning, but I don't think I will get a parking space, and the weekend weather is once more awful again.

The BBC has changed their Weather page and we have now a forecast video just for West England covering Somerset, Devon and Wiltshire. He apologised that that the weather yesterday was the opposite what they had forecast. At least, they are honest
Forecast for today is 11c and 41 mph wind.
Tomorrow gusty wind warning with 43 mph, but Monday, when I have to work, it will be sunny and calm again.
