Whats Your Weather Like December 2024

We have sunshine since 10am.

 

The fog has descended again here, I think I can see a very slight movement in the trees which may start to clear it but not expecting too much.

I don't know if it's cold or not, I haven't been out yet.

 

I opened my big mouth now it's back to cloudy gloom, 5c

 

Quite windy now with a bit of blue sky and weak sunshine, 11 degrees but it doesn't feel like it.

 

After a gloriously sunny afternoon yesterday, we're back to cold grey fog, cloud, whatever.... Even the météo admits that at 8C it's 4°C less than it should be for the time of year. Really nasty! Unless I've missed the point (entirely possible) it's beginning to look as though the ecolo-predictors are over-simplifying the whole global warming business. Cloud cover must surely play a part?

 

Sun arrived yes! Mild at about 10 degrees. Free heating for a couple of hours!

 

Well that didn't last long ! Good job I didn't blink or I would have missed it, it's gone murky again and I still haven't been outside, although Bella sat by the back door looking disgusted for a minute and then came back in, so that tells me it's cold.

 

I've just watched the forecast for the week ahead, where do they get their info, I know its mild in some parts of the country, mostly northern and western areas but its been downright cold for days here now.

Even said it will be colder at the end of next week and quoted 6c, for the SE, does he not know its not been above 6c here since before Christmas.
Yesterday was 2c max and its only 5c today.

 

Spent 90 minutes out weeding pots in the Courtyard and the Dining Patio. It is glorious and 17c now.

@pete i'm in the west and it's been 5c day & night for the last few days even the log burner is having problems staying a light it just dosn't want to go

 

It has been raining steadily and the guessers tell me that it will continue for at least 24 hours. It is 46f 7celcius. I can clearly see all of the houses surrounding mine so our clouds are staying in their elevated position to drip on us instead of lowering down and making us run through to get wet. I think I prefer this instead of the fog many over there are living with!

 

I would love a day like that - just to tide me over whilst it’s miserable and cold here. “Glorious and 17c” feels like so far away.

The sun only lasted an hour here today. At least the fog lifted so mustn’t grumble (am grumbling).
