What's your weather like FEBRUARY 2024

It's stopped raining, the sun is trying to get through still with a lot of cloud and a gentle breeze from the north west temp 13c feels like 13c.

Sitting in the sun, 16c, this cannot be right.

 

Wall to wall sunshine, been up to the Cairngorms National Park watching Red Kites.no Eagles today, 13 degrees, just like Spring time.

 

Yep, went for a walk near Stirling and it felt like a proper spring day

 

A mixture of sunshine and cloud but it's stayed dry and feeling warmer at 10C/50F. I can't remember the last time the temperature was in double figures.

 

We didn't get the forecast rain until 7pm yesterday. It rained most of the night here & it continued for a few hours this morning as well. Didn't stop till 10am when my wife & I left to go to our new church. Though I took an umbrella we didn't need it.

The rest of the day we had no more rain & the temps were quite reasonable at about 12C! I don't think they will be quite as high next Sunday! In fact temps are forecast to fall back to seasonal averages this coming week - just as the kids start their half-term holidays! At least it won't be as wet as this past week!

As I went by a different route to town last Saturday I didn't get to have a look at the river. We are lucky in that, although the river is no more than a 5 min walk from our flat, there is practically zero possibility of us being affected by flood waters from it. I saw a whole lot more water in the river back in January 2010 after all the snow in December 2009 & January 2010 Then heavy rains came along & swept it all away in just a few days, even then there wasn't any danger for us.

We are very unlikely to see a repetition of one of these events classified as "once in a lifetime". (I've lived through 3 of them & I have had only one life!)

We've started the day on a cloudy but dry note. We have 8C at 6am which is forecast to go as high as 12C max. We are told to expect some rain showers from about 8am. After a couple of hours the clouds will break up and we can expect sunny spells for the rest of the day.
