            Hi,

            After early rain I was surprised by how quickly things started to dry out. 10:30 this morning I was out making the most of my rare freedom.

            19 Feb 2024_0004.JPG The wheels of the heavy rotavator were starting to damage the hut floor.

            19 Feb 2024_0005.JPG Here's the reason why. These wheels make moving the rotavator around difficult but they do a good job whilst rotavating giving a strong drive.

            19 Feb 2024_0003.JPG
            Here's what I made up to dinnertime. 2" wide x 1/8" thick mild steel flat bar stock bent and drilled allowing the new wooden ramp to hook over the hut bottom frame member;

            19 Feb 2024_0006.JPG

            The new ramp in position and after dinner I looked around in the workshop finding two lengths 6" wide x 3/4" MDF at 66" long; just the job. These were positioned and secured using 50mm heavy gauge wood screws to the hut floor. MDF isn't the best choice but I had it to hand and if later it wears it's easily replaced.

            19 Feb 2024_0007.JPG Success; the rotavator now enters the hut under power; I also took this opportunity to finally clean and oil the rotavator; it had been put away wet because of the rain when last used; I dislike putting wet machines and tools away. The ramp is light and quickly lifts clear to be propped against the inner hut wall.

            I didn't expect to do anything at all in the garden today whilst out early this morning shopping in the rain. I've even charged up the cordless drill battery.

            Having sorted this job out I then cut the grass so all in all today turned out well in the end.

            If we experience another miracle tomorrow I want to strim the grass edges but two dry days? I can dream on.

            Kind regards, Colin.

              A lot of clouds compared to yesterday and it was kind of wet until around early afternoon.
              Sunny spells pm, 13c.

                Thick fog to start and only 8C, but it soon cleared with lovely warm sun all afternoon.

                          Hi,

                          WOW, no overnight rain and even a dryish day yesterday; I was starting to worry but everything will be back to normal this afternoon according to the jokers;

                          upload_2024-2-20_7-36-58.png

                          I'd better get off my backside before the deluge arrives.

                          Kind regards, Colin.
