What's your weather like January 2024

Who names these storms, I've never come across the name Henk. Taint English.

 

Seems it was our Met Office

 

Finally the winds have calmed down .At it's peak today on the the coast at nearby Southampton it reached 70 mph and around the Needles IOW 92 mph. Mild with a low of 10C tonight.

 

Sorry should have said it aint British.
Hamish I could take.
But its a really odd name for our met office to come up with, I think the last one they named was equally odd.

 

All day it's been raining and just stopped at 8 pm.

 

It's Dutch apparently Pete, short for Henrik.

Back to the norm here today although it's remained calm. A grey sky and a couple of drizzly showers. 3C/37F

Good morning all It's a cool start to the third day of January 2024 with only 8C! It's partly cloudy with little wind. It seems like the day will be mostly cloudy but with some brightness from time to time. No rain is forecast for today, but then we had plenty yesterday! It was also very windy as we were on the edge of an amber warning for very strong winds. We were in an area of yellow warning for heavy rain at the same time! Fortunately there are no more warnings for today!

Hi,

It's so boring. The only time it didn't pour down yesterday was when I posted early morning to say it wasn't raining. Still pouring down when we went to bed and looks like even more during the night; we're awash again as usual. Cold wet black hole so far; could do with a drop of rain.

Excellent weather for violin practice so I'm not complaining.
