            Hi,

Warmer today and the wind has finally had enough of tormenting me; bright periods of sunshine but also dark periods indicating rain; it's raining now.

I've decided to take down another big tree having watched it being buffeted by the gale force wind yesterday; it's a big oak and poses a danger being near the bungalow; I'm also sick of clearing oak leaves which are often stuck to the path & patio due to being wet.

Expecting rain today; I enjoyed a violin practice this morning then after dinner did more work in the workshop making four new tines for the restored rotavator; they are now complete apart from bending to shape.

            Kind regards, Colin.

The rain didn't last long & by 7.00am it had stopped. But while we were having breakfast it must have rained much heavier as everything was saturated & there were puddles on the ground that couldn't have come from the light 6.30am shower. Unless the rain is torrential we can't hear it in our living room. The curtains were closed so we couldn't see outside either.

Anyway the wind has died down almost completely again today after almost a week of continuous high winds! Both Storm Isha & Jocelyn have moved out into the North Sea. Apart from a little drizzle between10 & 11am the day has been dry. No more rain is expected today or tomorrow. We had a short time when we had some brightness but no periods of blue skies! :( Once again our min for tonight will be greater than our max for tomorrow! We have 12C at present, till about 5am, but tomorrow's max is forecast to be only 8C!

Tomorrow the clouds are expected to clear away from 6am & we can then expect to see a beautiful sunny day with lots of blue skies! :) Even if it's not going to be very warm I love to see the blue skies & sunshine in winter! :)

Its was damp with just a bit of drizzle from time to time, although it did attempt to brighten up around midday.
                  Max 11c.

Good morning everyone It appears to be be a good day today with lots of sunshine! The wind is strong again but not like earlier in the week. There are some clouds in the sky but they will probably dissappear once the sun gets up. The temps are at their max for the day with 9C! The rest of the day they are expected to hover around 7 or 8C!Our min is forecast to be about 3C so back to more "normal" values for late January!

We've been busy the last few days clearing storm damage.

Mrs Shiney and myself have done a lot of work clearing up and the tree surgeon has cut up the large Laburnum and carted it away. Some of the smaller stuff that we could cope with, in the front garden, has been cut up and filled five wheelie bins and the council has taken away.

We now have to clear all the branches, some up to 20ft long, that have come down in the back garden. They will be carted down to the bonfire heap and I have pumped up the tires on the big wheelbarrow. We shan't bother to cut them up.

As it is still quite windy, has calmed down from the overnight gales, we shall wait until later. The sun is shining  - summer is here :heehee:
