We have a cool and cloudy 14 degrees, it has rained overnight and it looks like it may rain again soon, barely a breath of wind, glad I live on the east coast other wise the midgies would be eating us alive in this weather.

60% chance of rain at 2 here in Newark but 2 brollies in the boot of the car . Feel a bit of sightseeing coming on around Southwell way and the sun is out around 14c .

The sun came out to play  but I had already decided on what my day was going to be - busy doing nothing!

Didn't work out that way as I got fed up by 6 a.m. so did the washing, drying, ironing, turned on the dishwasher and emptied it afterwards and hoovered the summerhouse - all before Mrs Shiney woke up. Got myself a load of brownie points :pathd:

Was hot and sunny at the bottom of the garden first thing, but I got driven inside by pelting rain by 10:30. I managed to plant out a few french beans and a fuschia which was looking miserable in a pot. The foxes helped with the fuschia; I noticed they had dug a hole and realised it was the ideal spot! Just got to hope now they don't dig it up again!
The french beans were only sown a fortnight ago today but one of them was threatening to start winding itself around the uprights of the wire shelf it was on, so they had to be dealt with today.
Looking out the window now the sky is blue again ...

Had been sunny earlier but now pouring with rain. Waiting for it to stop before taking daughter out sightseeing and probably lunch.

              Water butt is full!

Supposed to brighten-up to a sunny late afternoon and evening - will the breeze drop though?

Next week looking mostly rainy; the week after warm and sunny?!? Must be a typo.

For a few weeks, we had warm and dry. The last few days have reverted to the seemingly endless combination of very heavy rain and today, 15C. I read a Met Office article that said the disruption to the jet stream caused by higher average temperatures in the northern hemisphere meant this pattern is pretty much the new normal for the UK.

Yes, its strange how any type of heat, cold, wet or dry is now the expected normal due to climate change.
I thought a couple of years ago when we were getting fires everywhere we were to expect those kind of summers now.

They change their minds like the weather, anything to justify their theories.

Its hissing down here and cold.

I hear currently Alice Roberts Ancestors, and in chapter 4, she speaks about a biologist who found in earth probes cold blood and warm blood beetles. He came to the only explanation that there was inside a few decades a climate change from warm to cold and the warm blood beetles didn’t have time to adapt. So much to the theory that never before has been such a drastic change happened as in the recent decades caused by humans.

Apart from that, cloudy here after a sunny and cloudy morning. The announced rain didn’t happen. 18c currently.

How did he tell the difference given that both had been long dead when he came across them?
