Good morning all. a mix of blue sky and clouds, there might be rain, but the chances are around 39%. We will have another brief English summer from tomorrow until Friday.
13c currently, and it goes up to 20c.

I have a close eye on the Gladioli. They are by no means ready to be in flower at the beginning of August in my garden.
The importance of the Gladioli flowering time was discovered by me in December 2020 when they were in flower from Mid November to mid December. As you all remember, Spring 2021 was in fact winter, and it ended literally at the end of May 2021.
I thought about the possibility if Gladioli need in my garden 7 months from flowering to the end of the winter, I may have found that part of nature that tells us what lies ahead.
I have still in my blog the assumption that winter 2024/2025 could be the next big freeze winter that we can expect every 15 years in average.

It’s still and cool this morning, with some rain forecast today but clearing to a pleasant evening. Tomorrow looks good for my day off.

Ended up getting 25mm of rain in less than 2 hours yesterday evening.
Bright this morning with lots of cloud around.

Damp start here, with an o'night low of 13 degrees [almost 15 just now at approx. 7.55am] and a predicted high of about 17. It's to be wet this morning and clear up later in the afternoon, so a good day for some indoor jobs and outdoor ones later. Too hot for me o'night, so no duvet - just a blanket over the duvet cover.

Yesterday was sunny in the morning, and then cloudy for a good part of the day, with some sunny spells, a shower or two, and sunny in the evening. The high was 22, so it was good that I was working in the shadier bit over by the shed!

It is a lovely, bright breezy morning here with 18c going to high 20s/low 30s with a continuing breeze ... hopefully. I still dream of rain. It was nice having an overcast day yesterday, a reprieve from the tiring heat of the sun.

It cleared up for a bit in the afternoon but more rain in the night. Heavy cloud at the moment with blue sky patches. More rain forecast. Managed to walk the dog yesterday and only get ..sprinkled on, there were some severe deluges.

We had rain overnight and earlier on this morning, 5mm in the gauge so it can't have been as heavy or as prolonged as it sounded.
Some of the forecasts have showers for the rest of the day, but Netweather (which I find is often more accurate) only has showers for a short interval around teatime.

Grey and gloomy here again today. We had 40mm of rain between 3pm-ish and 9.30am this morning and still raining on and off although drizzle rather than proper rain. It’s the light levels or lack of that I have find the most dismal and it’s quite chilly

Forecast for the rest of the week looks quite good so everything crossed we do get another brief taste of summery weather

A grey and drizzly start here today, but now, very slowly, trying to brighten up a bit, so hoping it will be a dry(ish) afternoon.

The rain was thundering down yesterday evening and night. Could hear a gutter overflowing.

                              Now damp and dark.

But the next few days are dry and could go up to 24c on Friday!

Yes, I agree. So gloomy and overcast for days on end. I'm finding plants that really need the sun are flowering for a much shorter period this yr.
