I'd be ill permanently if I lived in your climate @Victoria !
Cloudy, damp start here. O'night low was 14 degrees [15 just now at approx. 8.15 am] with a predicted high of around 17, although one forecast is lower. It's very humid though, and there's rain for later on, or now and again, depending on which forecast I choose to believe!

Yesterday was mainly dry with some smirr in the morning, and a bit more in late aftn. Windy, so ideal for the washing. Rain o'night, but not very much. The high was 21-22, but the good breeze helped prevent it being too warm.

I am not the brightest candle in the box fairy, but at 20c now with a fresh breeze i am in my element at the moment ... but will fade ans flake as the day goes on. It wasn't like this when we moved here 23 years ago.

Just got this on my Facebook feed ...

DROP IN TEMPERATURES AND THE RETURN OF MODERATE TO STRONG NORTH WINDS TO THE COAST AND HIGHLANDS [IMG]
The current week has been characterized by hot weather across mainland Portugal, however, a drop in temperatures is expected over the next few days.
The max of the high temperatures in this period was in July 23rd with 37 stations in the official IPMA network reaching or exceeding 40°C. The top max temperature was 45.5ºC in Alvega (Santarém, Tejo Valley).
On July 22nd it had been Santarém with 43,6ºC and on July 24th it was Alcoutim (East Algarve) with 43.7ºC.
Low cloudiness and/or fog is expected to form, mainly in the coast.
This drop in maximum temperature will be more notable in the coast areas (except the eastern Algarve), with thermometers possibly reaching 26ºC in Porto and 27ºC in Lisbon this Thursday.
Faro, on the other hand, will record high temperatures remaining at around 38ºC.
Thus, maximum temperatures can drop by up to 10ºC on the coast, and should fall between 2 and 4ºC inland. In the Algarve it can rise 1 to 3ºC.
There will, therefore, be a day maximum with temperatures between 30 and 36ºC in most of the country, but inland it can still reach 40ºC.

Time and date didn’t have the records in 2000, but July 2010 it reached 35c, and August up to 37c. It was probably warmer where you are, @Victoria
Weather in juillet 2010 in Algarve, Portugal

Very autumnal here this morning. Warm enough to be in shorts at the corner shop, but doesn’t give any feelings of summer. Last week, the BBC said 25c for tomorrow, yesterday, they said 23c, today 21c. When can we expect frost?
We may get rain today, up to 20c.

Morning Simone ... you like researching weather, don't you? I am in Faro District about 45 minutes West of the airport. We expect temps to be high 20s/low 30s in July and August and that's when I hibernate in my own little oasis. :heehee: The province of Algarve is typically cooler than Central.

Cloudy today, but still quite warm, 23C already and it's only 9:23am. We had a small splash of a shower yesterday evening, just enough to dampen the pavement, not enough to register anything in the gauge or to get through the foliage to the soil. I don't think I'd have noticed it if I hadn't been walking back from my evening class at the time.

                  Cornwall.
It started raining yesterday afternoon and didn't stop until evening. Very humid.
Today is a repeat performance. Grey, overcast, wet, humid.
                  Horrible.

Mid grey clouds with a breeze.
                    Wet patio with permanent drizzle.
                    Mild but so gloomy

Been raining for last couple of hours, I've known better Aprils that this July has been.
They are now forecasting things might pick up for a few days from Sunday onwards, who knows, given up taking any notice of them, I think they are just clutching at straws like the rest of us.
One day of good weather from start to finish would be an improvement upon this messy weather we have had for months.
