Its cloudy but bright now, we have had sunny, spells for most of the day and light winds so 24c seems quite acceptable for late July.

It is another beautiful day. We're at 75f 21c right now and the guessers say we'll only be going up a few more degrees. This lovely temperature and clear blue skies is a real treat!

Much calmer, sunnier and warmer today. There seemed to be a lot of birds, bees and dragonflies whizzing around happily.

Next week we are due some hot, sunny and dry days and the ground and lawns are already dry. May get up to 25c.

                        Good morning all. It's weekend.
Currently 11c, but blue sky from what I see in twilight. Will get up to 21c.
Tomorrow 24c and Monday 26 to 27c. Eventually lasting until Wednesday, which makes it to our second short warm front, what some would call a heatwave.

Yes, @Victoria , I do like my statistics around weather. I started looking into it to see what has really changed. Summery is that for us in the UK, the winters are getting warmer, but the summers are colder apart from a few heatwaves.
I use this statistic for it. It's about the NAO, which started being recorded in 1950: https://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/precip/CWlink/pna/norm.nao.monthly.b5001.current.ascii.table
Your impression that you didn't have so hot weather 25 years ago is probably right. This also applies for us here in the NW of Europe. However, there have been far more warm years between 1980 and 1994.
In fact, the years between 1978 to 1995 had been all much warmer, which is the time when "Global Warming" was discovered.
When everything went down after 1995, they changed to "Climate Change", because the amount of extreme weather has changed.
We have twice as many extreme negative months in the last 28 years, then in the first 35 years.
On the other side, the extreme positive months are similar to what was in the first 35 years.
The crucial years were between 1983 and 1994. In just 8 years, there have been more extreme positive months than in the periods before and after (35 years and we are currently 28 year).
Just to give you an impression: The heatwave in August 1976 is visible with a NAO of 1.92, the 5 days heatwave of 2022 made it to 1,47. What is not visible is amount of rain that we get.

                        NAO_counting_years.gif

We will end this year the 5 years period definitely on the negative, blue side with a balance of currently 22 positive and 32 negative months. Even if everything is too small in the pictures you can see that the first 20 years (1950 to 1970) had more colder months, and the years between 1950 and 1955 were even extreme colder with 20 warmer but 40 colder months. Then came a period of warmer 20 years in the 70's to 90's. And then it turned again negative with the one exception between 2015 and 2019, because 2018 has been extreme positive with 10 months in the positive NAO.

                        NAO_counting_months.gif

Sorry to all who expect just a short weather update. I couldn't persist. I love facts and want to show them in pictures.

I love any weather stats @simone_in_wiltshire!

I woke to a little shower of rain but the clouds are parting already. The half moon is visible in the south this morning. Good weather forecast for the next few days.

CLoudy, damp start here. O'night low was 12 degrees [13 just now at approx. 7.45 am] with a predicted high of around 18 as it's to clear up and be sunnier later on.

Yesterday turned out to be very nice, with some sun from later morning, after the bits and pieces of dampness earlier. The high was 19 with a decent breeze for the washing. Rain came on later.
