It’s very windy this evening! I’ve just come out with a cuppa as it looked sunny but my washing is flapping about and I’ll have to close the poly greenhouse. Rain tonight and tomorrow but the garden really needs it.

    Love that about A Monkey’s Wedding @Tidemark

The rain moves towards the M4 corridor tonight and tomorrow, but stops their and doesn’t go further north.
I hope I don’t have to carry my garden to the south of the M4.

We got to 36.9 and now 32c so we have come in to the a/c (been sitting out since 6pm) ... same for tomorrow apparently. :thud: T'pther Half will be going out for lunch with his friends (I will not be joining them) ...

We had a sunny but very breezy day but it started raining about 8.30 pm as forecast and more rain expected tomorrow. Quite pleased if it does as the garden really needs it.

                Good morning, everyone.
                No rain to see:
The BBC is sure that it will be here soon and moves inside the next 3 hours towards NE. The good news is that Oxford will be clear by the time I arrive there by bus.
12c currently, 19c in the afternoon.

How they want to turn this into this one

just inside 50 minutes is a secret to me. Let's see what really arrives here.

I know it as a Fox's Wedding @Tidemark. We've had quite a few of those recently

Today looks to be the same. Forecast is a mix of cloud, sun and wind again, although not to be as windy and wet as yesterday. O'night low was 10 degrees [11 just now at approx. 7.45am] with a predicted high of around 14.

Yesterday was a real mix of everything, with some heavy spells of rain, although fairly short lived. I was lucky with my morning walk and it only rained for about 20 mins when I was out. Gale force gusts, and generally windy. The high was 15.

We've finally got steady light rain which we have been awaiting for at least a month. Hopefully the large cracks in the ground will heal up. I've put an order in for three days of it and then I hope they switch it off for a while.

When I was working in South Africa (over 60 years ago) it was a common saying for when it was sunny and raining at the same time.

Mrs Shiney lived in Calcutta for many years (also over 60 years ago) and it was also a very common saying there.

I hope you get adequate rain for the next few days @shiney. Makes it difficult for you otherwise.

I would never trust a 4 day forecast, let alone a 14 day one! The landscape, size, and position of the UK, makes that almost impossible to predict accurately. Our forecasts can change hour to hour here, let alone day to day, due mainly to our landscape - ie the predominance of hills.
