Overcast, breezy, damp, 18c going to 25c. We had 5mm worth of showers throughout the night, well appreciated. Forecast for thunderstorms and showers today.

The wind is stronger and gustyer than ever this morning.

I was actually looking at my onions on the allotment just now and the wind has been blowing from the NE for so long they have a definite lean to the growth.

 

Sun has just burnt the cloud off. max 19°C later in the afternoon. Cool/cold breeze from the east.

 

It is 19c and lightly raining.

 

56f and total covering of smoke and cloud. Our air quality is 9/10 which is the worst it has ever been that I can remember. Lots of outdoor activities have been cancelled and they even closed the Dome last night because of the smoke.

Wearing a mask outside is recommended but at least we can actually see this nuisance and appreciate the need for masks. Not like it was with the invisible virus.

 

Yes, the fires are 50% caused by dry conditions and lightning, and the rest by useless articles who can't be trusted with a match.
