Whats your weather like June 2024

14c and rising slightly through the day, glad the wind speed has dropped to 5 m.p.h . Got our Beech hedge which runs half-way up our garden , it’s no-man’s land next to us , all pruned back yesterday so out early and put in 3 old m.p.c bags . Cuppa time now .

 

Because we've had so much rain up to now our ground is still quite damp. My test is would I sit directly on the lawn - no not yet. But the forecast over the next week is up to 25C. And that is plenty hot enough.

Also I may be a bit weird as I do not like ice cream. But instead I have the excuse of football to have a cold beer or Guinness and some scratchings.

And no rain is forecast.

 

Lovely here this morning, bright and sunny with a tiny breeze.

Tomorrow is full moon and Summer Solstice. It’s the Strawberry moon.

The moon and sun will be true opposite’s tomorrow, with the sun rising as the moon sets and the sun being the highest all year and the moon at the lowest. Apparently the moon is so low that some places won’t see it, but for most the moon will appear large due to the low position - the “moon illusion”.

 

@AuntyRach I noticed the low moon last night along with pinky clouds and pretty blue sky.

It was sunny but the clouds have come over, light winds from the south south west temp 21c feels 20c.

Its been clear blue skies this afternoon and 23c, after what we have had it feels pretty warm.

Sunset 21.17, downhill from now on until Christmas.

 

Light cloud here and there most of the day. Pleasantly got to 23c, 22c now with a light breeze and cloudless.

Yep, the longest day. And it felt like it. BT playing games with us. Changed our phone number - no reason, just did it. Should be able to get it back in ten days’ time, they say. In the meantime, we have to tell everyone who might be trying to ring us on our landline (most people) that we temporarily have a new number. At least, they say it’s temporary.

 

A repeat of yesterday. Sunny until mid afternoon followed by cloud cover. A little less wind today though, 18C/64F.

Sunrise times start going backwards tomorrow but the sunset times will stay at 10.20 pm for at least a week.

 

Actually, the solstice took place yesterday at 9:53 PM here in Wiltshire, AuntyReach, and should have happened similar time where you are. I went to Avebury and enjoyed it very much.

Today, we can expect another sunny day with 21c, currently 11c and clear sky.
