Well they have issued a heat warning because it might hit 30c, after weeks of rain and cold we now get a heat warning, oh and stay out of the sun, slap on the sunscreen, go hide in a cave, I made the last bit up:biggrin: but you have to wonder what is really going on with all this.

I had to apologise to my colleague in India, the one with 45c and who can't survive without air condition, and started "I don't want to upset you, but England will get its heatwave with 26c or so."
I will definitely enjoy my ice cream. There is nothing better than a sleepless, sweaty night for a few days in a hot summer week.:)

It got to 23C today and the sun was strong with little wind. We had to sit in the shade for lunch outside. The red bricks of our 1980s house heat up and are quite hot to touch. At night we can slowly cook in our furnace. 27C upstairs.

We had the same while living in Maidenhead, @cactus_girl . Where we are now, we have the 50's concrete block walls and it gets easy warm and easy cold. England's houses are not made for cold and hot temperatures, I always explain to my managers, when I say, I can't work after 1 o'clock when we have our short-living heatwave once a year.

I just saw that the BBC turned the 70% rain possibility into 23c and sun with cloud. Never mind. I need to water the garden eventually.
25c expected today and tomorrow between 26 and 27c until Wednesday. Just came back from the garden where I checked that everything is okay (a little fox started again to make holes by the lilac tree and some plants recently), wearing shorts and t-shirt. Amazing.

It was a beautiful evening and warm night last night and a red moon eventually rose up.

                      Cornwall.
                      Damp all day yesterday.
This morning is grey, overcast, humid, mild and damp. There was a heavy low mist earlier but that has cleared. It feels as if it is winding up for a scorcher later.

Currently 23c but supposedly only going to high 20s today ... I sure hope so as the constant heat day and night is draining, but at least we have dry heat.

Cloudy start again here, but to be sunny later, so I'll go out now before it's too hot for me. O'night low was 10 degrees, and it's 15 just now [9am] with a predicted high of 17. I think that'll be much higher though, if the sun does break through, and there's no breeze to help.

I wasn't on here yesterday as I was unwell, but it was much the same, cloud in the morning with a bit of light smirr, and hot in the afternoon with a bit of breeze. The high was about 20.

Open your windows all night but close them during the day, doors as well closed, if you have cavity wall insulation and especially loft insulation it will help keep the heat out.
Blinds on the windows, but what you really need is shutters on the outside.
