It's a cold start to the day here with only 3-4C. It's very cloudy and we are f a few hours of rain from about 8am this morning. But we had a shower just before 4am as I heard the rain beating on our bedroom window. Only lasted a few minutes. But, just like yesterday, when the rain stops we can expect sunshine and showers. Though winds are going to be strong they will weaken as the day goes on till they become a light breeze by the time the day comes to an end. Max temps for today will be 7 to 8C. Min expected to be 2 or 3C.

 

3c Snowing, at 4am twas raining then at 6am 1 inch of snow

 

Raining and a bit windy.
It was only 3c at 10.30 last night but it's risen to 6c now.

 

Light cloud with sun trying to break up, showers on and off expected today, 9c going to 18c.

 

Still raining and light winds from the east north east temp 3c feels like 0c

 

It is now 11c and drizzle in the air ... and I just read this hopefully good news ...

"Abundant rain expected throughout March

Alfredo Graça, specialist at Meteored Portugal says February will end with cold weather and some precipitation in the form of rain, perhaps snow in some areas of Portugal.

For March 2024, above-normal precipitation is expected across the country, but with maximum temperatures of 19/20ºC in areas such as Santarém, Setúbal , Beja and Faro.

As for precipitation, “quite sharp contrasts are observed between the northern and southern regions, with the average monthly rainfall exceeding 100mm in Minho, but not even reaching half that amount in Baixo Alentejo and Algarve.”

The first days of March will see some precipitation, but increase from March 4th and possibly until the end of the month."

 

It's stopped raining for now with a gentle breeze from the south south east temp 5c feels like 2c and it does.

 

I think the jetstream is moved down across Iberia, they are forecasting a blocked pattern up our way from middle of next week which might divert the Atlantic lows further south. Maybe?

 

I sure hope so Pete as we have been evaded for a few years now.

I have spent an hour out in the sun re-potting but it has now overcast and breezy so it will be nice if we get the forecast showers, Currently 15,5c.

 

After heavy overnight rain we woke up to a light frost again, now 6 degrees and sunny.
