Just started raining here and the wind is quite bad as well, it looks like a narrow band of rain but pretty intense.
    We had 18mm yesterday evening.

It rained briefly, so brought the washing in (which was almost dry), but typically, the sun is shining again now :).

Was really pleasant earlier this morning, now the sun has been hidden by dark clouds that's threatening to drench us. The wind cuts right through my old bones, and I feared for the 4 types of carrots I was sowing, got a feeling I'll end up with a patch of mixed up carrots.

It is surprising how quickly the wind can suck the moisture out of flowerbeds, and pots.

It's bitterly cold like January, and we've had heavy rain, hailstones, sleet, strong winds, thunder and lightening ... and a tiny bit of sunshine

Storm Nelson is on his way and there are warning of high winds, stronger gusts up to 130kph and strong waves and tides so, in the Vendée, we've been warned to stay away from the beaches.

It's already blowing a hoolie but will peak tonight and tomorrowand take a day or 2 more to calm down. I might just leave the spud planting a few days more.

It definitely sounds as if you need to hunker down for the next few days @Obelix-Vendée.

You're right @Blue arbour but I had myself all geared up for gardening over the long Easter weekend and am really not in the mood for sewing, decorating or spring cleaning indoors. Humph!

Had a few heavy hailstorms this afternoon and now it's sunny with some cloud.
A moderate breeze from the south temp 7c feels like 4c.

After a sudden and very violent hail storm late morning we then had a glimmer of sunshine, hastily chased away by more rain which then changed to snow! Big fluffy white flakes floating down for about half an hour and settling for a while. Then followed two claps of thunder and two huge gusts of wind that moved all the bins around. Temperature now reads 6C but at least it has gone quiet. What else can this weather throw at us? It is nearly the end of March for goodness sake and I thought March was supposed to go out like a lamb if it came in like a lion - and I thought it did.

It’s sleeting further up the valleys tonight. It was 10 degrees today but certainly felt more than 3. Glad I’ve kept my fleecy bed ‘linen’ on!
