Whats Your Weather Like May 2023

We got to 27c but it is 23c with that fresh breeze still with us, but inside now.

 

I just knew it was tempting fate saying to people that we escape the hailstorms that frequently afflict neighbouring départements. We'd just put the car away (thank goodness) when it struck! A thunderstorm complete with hailstones the size of golfballs. Having just invested quite a few euros in a new pergola and a motorised pool cover, both of which are notorious for being destroyed by hail, it was a tense half-an-hour. The aftermath is not pretty....citrus trees stripped of flowers and baby fruit, hostas that were pristine this morning are now tattered shreds. Too dispirited to check for cracked roof tiles tonight, but hey-ho....all part of the joys of living in SW France. At least we don't depend on crops for a living.....

Well it was a long time brightening up and the sun didn't come out proper until early afternoon, its clear blue now and could be a good night for star gazing

It was reasonably warm for this soggy cold year that we are having.
