Whats your weather like May 2024

Well a very different day today, top temp of 14 degrees made gardening much easier, quite thick Harr rolling in off the sea on a gentle breeze was the reason for the drop. Quite a lot of things done today including a gentle clip of the hedges with hand shears as there a few birds nesting in there.

 

Can't sleep - nothing odd about that, but it isn't usually because of the heat.
Yesterday afternoon was too hot for gardening ... car thermometer said 27 C

What happened to the thunder storms they said we were going to have - there's been nothing here.

Good morning all rained overnight, but now full sun with an expected high of 22c.

 

Sun trying to break up high cloud, breezy and 16c going to 25c staying breezy.

 

Damp, cloudy start here. O'night low was still very high at 13 degrees. 14 just now [app. 8.20 am] and predicted high is 17 to 19 depending on which forecast is more accurate! They can't decide on the actual weather either.

Yesterday was a mix of cloud and sun, and the high was 24. Very humid, and we had thunder and some sharp showers later afternoon and evening. Didn't see any lightning though. Sky was very impressive for a good while though.

Still quite foggy up 'ere, 11 degrees, but more importantly minimum in the greenhouse was 11 overnight, so tommies and chillies looking happy.

 

Warm and sunny again yesterday, no sign of the rain that other people seem to have had. Same today with a drying breeze as well -good for the washing, not so good for the garden. Never mind, all the forecasts are showing some for tomorrow with reasonable confidence.

 

It is cloudy and raining intermittently. The temperature is already up to 55f 11c and the guessers say it is going up to the 70'sF mid 20's C. I won't garden in the rain but lots of other things can happen when it's wet. I've got the outside wood burning oven fired up and cooking/smoking a nice piece of ham.

Blustery and cooler with it, had heavy rain for a while yesterday evening. In anticipation of the heavy rain I emptied a load of water from the very large butts, the linked one was emptied. Main butt is now full and the other half way there. The forecast for the rest of the month does not show a lot of rain, so this might be the new ploy for a while.
