Whats your weather like May 2024

Rained all night and we have a weather warning for thunder and lightning today and two more days in the week. I do love a good rumble - nothing worse than boring weather. Delicate pots and plants have been returned to the GH in readiness.

 

We have the rain too, not too heavy and a gentle breeze, quite misty with 12 degrees.

 

Long sunny periods and 21c.
The wind is a bit gusty which is not great.

Well what a day! Started with blue skies and sunshine. Then grey clouds. Then torrential rain. Then sleet. Then sunshine. Then torrential rain. Then grey skies. Then hail storm. Then thunder and lightning. Then torrential rain and the road outside a river. Sorry about all the "thens" but it just seemed to be like that. Plants battered down with the force of the rain.

 

Mostly cloudy but dry yesterday, I got the grass cut and more forget-me-nots and other gone-over stuff pulled out. It rained a bit overnight and this morning, then we had a dry spell so some planting done while the soil was moist and diggable, then we had a short but sharp thunderstorm. 7mm rain since yesterday teatime. Now the sun is out and it feels quite warm, but too wet to be doing anything much out there.

 

It's been sunshine and heavy, short, sharp showers here nearly all day. One thunderclap and lightning shoot around lunchtime. Warm enough to wear a long sleeved tee shirt outside.

 

On and off sun and rain today. Very breezy now so I’m drying off my hair outside.

BH Monday looks rubbish but I’m in work so won’t have FOMO.

 

Just as we were retiring the heavens opened last night . The noise on the roof of our conservatory said it all. Around 14c breezy then showers but in between did have some sun shining pleasant day after .

After a few very heavy downpours overnight, it’s fine with some blue sky this morning. The forecast has changed to rain this am but sunny pm.
