As a young lad I used to love driving through South Cave with my Dad.
There was a "posh house" at the junction with big gates across the driveway. Immediately behind the gates were 3 huge St. Bernard Dogs basking in the Sun.
This was over 50 years ago and in my memory they were always there - ergo the Sun used to shine all Summer.
    Ah the memories:SUNsmile:

Here in DRESDEN (yes, you understand properly: D-R-E-S-D-E-N), +28 °C !
Sunshine, cloudless sky and hot temperature !
I'm having a 3 days journey here in Dresden (Saxony, East Germany, time ago belonging to the former German Democratic Republic).
The German people are melting up like butter in a pan....
They are all in swimming suit in the parks, gardens and in the beach of the Elbe River.
I myself am melting up since I left from Italy dressed according to the temperatures of Milan Malpensa (three days ago, it was cloudy with temperatures at +15 °C).
Anyway, I want to promote this nice city: VISIT DRESDEN ! :WINK1:
They call it the "Elbe-Florence" (since it is on the river Elbe and it is full of Baroque Architecture). It has been entirely refurbished !
Now it is really a nice town ! Congratulations to the germans. You can flight to Dresden via Frankfurt...

The day has been one of sun then cloud, then sun then more cloud with the temperature going up and down. Late in the afternoon the cloud stayed and the sun disappeared and it went very cool. Supposed to be heavy rain tomorrow and I've got a 180 miles round trip to do:biggrin:

I take it you know the history of Dresden, Maksim? It's been refurbished because, unfortunately, during WWII it suffered a heavy air raid and was completely demolished in one night. So they had to rebuild it from scratch which is why it looks so nice.

Yes, I've read what you say about the History of Dresden.
I've been astonished about the recent rebuilding of "Frauenkirche" (the main Dresden Cathedral). Think that, as you mention the WWII bombing, it was completely demolished. Nothing but just a few stones were left.
Well, in 1994 the germans (reunified) started the rebuilding of the Church.
In 2004 the rebuilding of the Church was terminated. Exactly in the same architecture as it was when it was previously built in the 1700 years. Fantastic !
Only 20 years ago, Dresden was a decaying town coming out 40 years of Comunism.
Nowadays it is a "jewel-town". Over the last 20 years the germans have transformed a town.
        They are clever.

It was raining gently all day whilst we were in London. It's now quite windy and cold.

I'll give it a go, Bilbo :heehee: but it may take me a little bit of time to bring it about as I'm working on a lot of other requests as well.

I tell you what: looks like Europe is split into two parts being a meridian a sharp boarding-line.
Now I am in Dresden. Three days ago, I flew from Frankfurt to here (Dresden).
So, it was a west to east flight.
Well, untill mid-route there was a sort of "cloud-carpet" under my flying airplane.
Then, all of a sudden, a sharp bording-line and absolutely not a cloud under me.
So that I could have a perfect visibility of the ground under the flying airplane.
I experience the same thing exactly ten years ago when I flew to Moscow: until Germany, there was a "cloud-carpet", then a completely cloudless sky starting from Poland. Indeed, at that time (it was august 2002) Europe was split into two parts: the west part was cloudy and rainy with some severe floading in Germany.
The east part was hot and dry with high temperatures (more than +30 °C in Moscow and +25 °C in Saint-Petersburg).
This east-west weather-figure is something that sometimes could occur in our continent.
Accordingly to what I'm saying, even Spain (that is south, but also west) is now experiencing cold-wet weather (expecially in the north and in the west of the country).
Conversely, here in east Germany (where I am right now) we are experiencing sunshine, summer weather and temperatures at +28 °C. Today, something +29 °C are expected. Same figure, is in Poland, Tschech Republic and Ukraine.
              That's the way it is...

it's only 10am now, and since midnight here in Cambridge, we have had 14mm of rain, .... and it's still raining and it is forecast to rain all day/night

might get some root rot if it continues for a another week ( we have had heavy rains for 2 weeks now)

The rain has been coming down steadily for the last few hours and Shineyland is now getting soggy. I'll have to think of putting the shields up again. :heehee:

Dim, the doctor can give you something for that! :roflol:
