The winds here have been frightening, really ferocious. This is nothing new for this area but i hate it, they're so damaging

They said we wouldn't get too much wind down here but we have wind speed of 36 mph with gusts up to 52 mph at the moment. The forecast, for us, is for the wind to ease to 25 mph and the rain to start about 4 p.m.

High winds now and like Scotland we're going to get a battering later. Storm force is promised at the moment. I'm nervous!

Hang to your britches , Sheal:D:heehee: Your weather must like being around Ziggy the morning after he's had a night out.:D:heehee::heehee::WINK1::loll:

The trouble is, Sheal, that you get that funnelling effect by the wind being squeezed between Ireland and the North West coast of the UK when it comes from the West and North:(:what::cry3:. I'm so glad the Irish anchored their Island where they did because they take the brunt of the Atlantic weather and shelter Cheshire from most of it........very kind of them.:D:heehee:

The weather here is not all that bad. We've had the increased temperature taking us up around 54f, but now it's dropped to 45f [3.05pm]. The wind has been blustery but not really troublesome, although on the roads there's a few tree branches skittering around in the wind. So, all in all, not as bad as I thought it would be, but definitely not gardening weather.:D:heehee:

Just heard Scotland's got 150mph winds on high ground, they are getting the worst up there.

Here it's just starting to peak and as always after dark it sounds worse.

Tomorrow we're being promised snow on high ground, oh joy!

Torrential rain at times here today, coupled with strong winds; not as bad as many are having, got to feel for those in Scotland - 100-150mph gusts

After temperatures struggling to around 5 or 6 degrees over the last few days it's topped 13 degrees today, kind of irrelevant in the wind and rain though...
