Well, again we've had no frost here on the Cheshire Plains. But when I took my sister on her weekly shop into Nantwich there was was frost on her gate and neighbours cars in Winstanton. Funny how a few miles can make a difference.:D Anyway, today here was cloudy, cold with little breeze until this afternoon. The temperature at 10.00am was 36f but crept up to around 46f at 2.00pm and now at 8.40pm is 38f. Bad weather on the way, they say, Look out, Sheal!!!!!!!!:D:heehee:

        Today misty and 1c
Took the Grandkids to buy their Crimbo trees, to Blairadam Forrest Kelty about five miles away but othe side of the hill

Went over the brow of the hill and four inches of SNOW car temp indicator -2c
Forest itself was a WONDERLAND of white, capped trees quite beautiful but bitter cold

Seems I live on the RIGHT side of the Hill

Advanced Warning of Double Major Storms For UK Next Week - In Depth Analysis (Be Prepared)

              snip:
On Tuesday, a severe extratropical cyclone will hit Scotland and the North of England. This storm will be comparative to the one experienced this week and will bring further havoc to an already battered country. With the lead up to Christmas, its the last thing anyone wants. Its a time to be prepared, none of us want our Christmas ruined by damaged homes, lives and possessions.

The story doesnt end there though. Once this storm passes through after about 24hours, a second even stronger storm will hit the south of England on Friday 16th December. This storm will affect the most densly populated area of Europe and could pose a significant risk to life through wind and flooding, This second storm will be the equivenlent to a CATAGORY 3 hurricane.

This second storm will have a probable central pressure of arounf 945mb, this is exceptionally deep and only around 15mb off of the UK record set in 1884.

Do not ignore this as a simple windy winters day, or a usual storm, because it most certainly isn't. This second storm will go down in history, and the damage total will be far higher than the £150 million in Scotland this week

Your're always the bearer of Good News, dim:rolleyespink::mute::what::heehee::D I will be on the look out for both storms and batten down the Green House and keep a check on things during the day.:paladin:

This morning it rained constantly, displeasing the two Moggies who wanted to have a stroll around. The sky has two levels of cloud, a high smooth grey covering from horizon to horizon, and a lower level of puffy dark clouds coming from the West. It's still raining on and off so not much will get done in the garden.:cry3: It's now 1.44pm and the temperature is 44f.

The Tueday forecast for Glasgow (according to Accuweather) is 16 hours of rain and 32mph wind.
Nothing like that forecast by Dim.
It will be interesting to compare the reality!

I believe the storms are forecast to hit the southern half of Britain this time, the South East baring the brunt apparently, so it looks like Scotland and the far North of England gets a reprieve this time...:thumb:

Our weather yesterday?, quite simply - WET, but no wind so it wasn't all bad...:D

Currently its dark :D but I can tell there's no wind yet and the rain has stopped too for the time being, it is forecast to be an ok day here today before going down hill for the rest of the week, fingers crossed...

Cloudless sky, bright sunshine, full moon still hanging low in the west. Light ground frost and a gentle breeze. Perfect for planting a dozen fruit trees and scented hedges. No rain please!
