Well, it was a fine day after all yesterday. Collected the plants and trees and got them set out. It blew a hooley and chucked it down with rain in the night. Woke to find the drive blocked by a 20ft Hawthorn tree.

Borrowed my friend's car to go into Rye to hire a petrol chainsaw and spent all morning cutting, clearing and burning (should have been drawing). Luckily, it stayed fine, so hopefully my guys have got on with the fencing and planting.

I'm collecting 80 whips for the native hedge tomorrow so fingers crossed it'll be fine again.

About 3 p.m. we had about five minutes of sleet then the sun came back out but it is drizzling now.

We had blue skies, large grey and white clouds drifting along pushed by a cold Westerly wind.
The outside temperature during the day was around 41f, but with the cold wind felt as though it was in the low 30f's .:what: It's now 7.33pm and the temperature is 39f.:D

Severe gales bordering on storm force again here. I know there are trees down around the island and some coastal road closures. Slightly worse than last week.

It can't be Armandii, otherwise I'd be feeling seasick by now! :heehee:

Just been told it's snowing on the mountain road here. Wind is abating slowly.

        Stay safe, Jack.:D

Sheal, I was just thinking that if you've got a Mountain that could make the Island top heavy and it might capsize in high seas and winds.:D:mute::heehee:

A bit on the dull side at the moment and I'm a little bit puzzled . We didn't seem to get high winds last night but the bird feeder is on the ground. Being 6' high and on four legs that are each 3' long it takes a hell of a wind to blow it over. During blowy weather I only fill the top feeder a third full so it doesn't get top heavy. When it's light enough I shall get out there and check it for damage. The birds will have to wait a while.
