Just how unreliable is the BBC weather? I looked at their website yesterday and the whole of central Scotland was covered in dark blue meaning heavy rain. Being a gardener to trade I plan my week around the weather, so i was thinking of swapping some jobs around, i look at the website this morning and , nothing, it's to be dry all day. BBC weather = rubbish!

Ive been checking bthe weather on the BBC due to us having a lot of outdoor events at the moment and it changes ever couple of hours. I dont think that any weather report at the moment is reliable, if you search the net for a different report then it is totally different to the the one I looked at 5 minutes previous. We are making the decision whether to go ahead with the events on the morning they are due to take place. The BBC said heavy rain for us today, but at the moment its light drizzle.

9 minutes to 9pm. It's almost dark/lights on. Been too windy all day. Stuff in pots blowing over. And it's cold/radiator on. Lots of things have flopped over in the rain today all very bruised and soggy.
No dream - a treetree nightmare!!

Sheal, I am sure you have moved here :heehee: ... we will be hitting the mid-30s tomorrow but then back down to our low 30s. Can you please send the thunderstorm to me and make sure there is lots of rain with it as I am tired of watering 3/5 times a day ... :love30:

No, I'm still here on the island Victoria and the temperatures are no where near yours, around 15C. But you can have the thunderstorm, I hate them, my past houses having been struck three times, very scary! :sofa:

Oh, we got hit some years ago, came through the telephone line ... I actually saw the blue flash in the foyer. Lost the line for nine days, most of Algarve was hit and they had to bring in engineers from Lisbon to cope with it all. Portugal Telecom (PT) gave us credit for the days we did not have a line. We lost our computer and telephone also and insurance here paid for it all and we were upgraded and got a better computer (we have two desk tops besides the laptops) .. whey hey! :hapydancsmil:

Our current problem is copper theft and our telephone lines/internet has been down two days at a time for three times in the past four weeks, but six times this year. The area near us has been hit 11 times this year so far. We are slightly remote and it is very difficult to monitor but the Police are trying to do Neighbourhood Watch things but that is always awkward in the country. :frown:

As soon as I hear the storm starting I unplug everything that's likely to be blown, I've learnt my lesson in the past. One year lightning struck a few large plant pots right outside my window and they just exploded. It's dangerous stuff! We haven't had a storm here for about five years, so I'm hoping this one won't materialise, fingers crossed. :)

I can understand people stealing the copper, it's becoming quite valuable now. The electrician that worked on my house asked if he could have the old copper piping that was laying around in my loft. I let him have it as he cleared out the loft for me. :)
