Thanks Ziggy. But why is it we never get locked into the dry sunny weather?

The only thing we can be thankful for is - it's not the middle of winter, otherwise we'd not only be snowed in we'd be buried alive!

Blinking horrible weather. So pleased I had my big conifer taken out a couple of months ago, there are branches off some of the other big trees, and the new ones I have just bought are currently tied to various spades and forks to try to brace them. At least my family are warm and dry, and just about to play some board games to cheer us up

I've just heard the island has been put on full flood alert. Some roads already under water. I've lived here twenty years and it's the first time I've heard this.

No, if this was winter we would be getting a mild wet winter.
We get our "winters" in the summer these days, jet stream and all that.

After torrential rain all night, today has been dry, and damp, still cold though at 12c

Also the summer Solstice has passed so the nights are drawing in again, soon be dark at 16:00 and fleece required for the plants :-)

Its blowing a gale and pouring down here. Its all my fault too. A couple of days ago I took some courgette plants out of the greenhouse, and stuck them in the ground. Now they, along with everything else, are being shaken about like crazy. The sprout plants my dad gave me are already at 45 degrees.

Still, things are growing. The garden is being watered, and we need the occasional gale to stop the air stagnating.

The island is flooding! The river in Douglas has burst it's banks and roads just a few miles from where I live here on the west coast are under water.

The rain has been heavy and incessant since yesterday evening and no sign of it stopping at the moment.

Sheal, sorry to hear about your floods . I'll see whether I can get the Shineyland Ark up to you :)

We've been fortunate down here with a dry, mild day yesterday (but quite a breeze on) and it's currently dry with the sky brightening up and the sun appearing to show some activity below the horizon.

Very bright at 5 . Then when I next woke up at 7, it is clouding over. Dry night but certainly not very warm. The wind has dropped back to a level the plants can cope with. Had to string up the little blue sweet peas as they are climbing up and have a few flowers now. :dancy:
