Yesterday it remained overcast all day with the temp hovering around 55-60F. Then late afternoon we had heavy rain for about 5 minutes - the first rain in weeks. The ground is still rock hard and impossible to dig, some parts of the lawns are quite brown and I haven't needed to mow for two weeks now.

It got quite nippy last night and, now, it's 41F, sunny and calm but I don't think it will get much above the upper 50's today.

Looked at 'The Daily Express' typical scaremongering headlines after getting bored whilst shopping this afternoon. Apparently, tomorrow we're getting -5 deg C temps with gritters out, 5 inches of rainfall and 85 mph winds.

A lovely day here today after the cold night last night; dry and sunny for the most part with a light breeze, quite warm too at 15 degrees...:)

Our forecast for tomorrow is cloudy and mainly dry but plenty of rain for the beginning of the week :frown:

It was so gorgeous in the copse today, that I had to (discreetly) remove my "under" t-shirt before I became broiled Mum!

However, the Weather Man says that tomorrow, is forecast heavy rain! :hapfeet: :hapfeet: :hapfeet: We are so gagging for it here!!! Plus, saves me two hours of watering time! :hapfeet: My only concession will be ... I will (just so) discreetly ... put my "under" t-shirt back on! Then, I will open my arms and welcome the rain; we need it so desperately!

Wall to wall grey and a heavy sky. It has just started to rain. The lawn looks like a straw carpet so it will green it up. Still quite dark but resisting putting a light on,
