It got quite foggy this afternoon. Don't know what it's like at the moment but I'll find out when I go out in half an hour. The forecast is rain tonight and warming up during the night. Rain tomorrow and then frost each evening for a few days.

Thank you Jenny. We had a phone call from the site manager (there's only four permanent sites there and 12 'transient') and there was no damage there. Just watched the TV news and the damage is more significant than the links I put up ... quite shocking! Reminds me of when we lived in Alabama and had tornadoes umpteen times a year devasting the place ... one of the reasons I moved from there. It is rare here and I have no intention of moving.

We will still go up to look around and have to go through Silves to get there, only 20 minutes or so away from us here and 5 minutes from the van.

It was just torrential rain and gusty wind with us today here at the house.

Is this bout of current weather unusual or do you get very stormy episodes at this time of year?

It is unusual as such Jenny. This is our rain season, having gone through six months of no rain through the summer so we expect and want/need rain through the winter to get us through the next summer to fill up our reservoirs. Last winter was the driest in 90 years and then with nothing through the summer. This was completely unexpected and not forecast.

That's weather to be reckoned with Zigs!

It doesn't sound good news for your Citrus fruit Victoria. I must admit, I am not finding the Oranges and Clemmies as good as previous years.

Jenny, you won't get citrus fruit from Portugal in the stores there as it has only recently come up to EU standards ... but is the best and sweetest in Europe! I live in the middle of thousands of orange / tangerine / lemons trees so believe me.

A dry, still and murky day yesterday, the light levels stayed low all day and it went dark at what felt a very early time last night, temperature reached 9 degrees.

It's 8.1 degrees this morning and raining :frown:

Still dry and mild but doesn't look promising - unless it's promising rain and then frost.
