To be honest I've never seen the Welland in danger of bursting it's banks, although I have seen it in full flood and unfishable. Where I fish it is in the countryside and it runs shallow for a stretch, then deep, narrow and then broader so it's a river full of character.:heehee:

It's been raining and cold and very breezy here in Manchester today. We seem to get the finer weather during the night. Dosn't seem quite fair some how. :th scifD36:

It has stopped raining (forecast a lot more today) but still blowing a hoolie (not the Irish sort). Very mild.

The river, five miles from here, has overflowed into the floodplane (hundreds of yards either side) where a few years ago there had been a planning application to build 20,000 houses (only a few hundred houses would have been on the floodplane). The waterfowl are loving it :dbgrtmb:

Well its been one of those very fine mist type of rain most of the day, the sort that really soaking you before you know it,
Even the dogs didnt fancy spending to much time outside.
On our walk this morning the cows from their side of the fence followed us as we walked along the track and after we visited the small river and returned on our way home passed the same field the cows turned round and again kept in line with us.
They really are a nice friendly animal,
So cute with their big eyes and mum near by to keep them from harm.

Been a mild, blowy and often damp day here - and according to the forecast it is due to persist down all night into tomorrow morning.

Reached a crazy 14.8 degrees here yesterday :hate-shocked:(more than double the average for the time of year) and with no wind it felt really mild and to think this time last week it was struggling to get above freezing!!

            Currently 9.8 degrees and dry..:)
