We've got the odd cloud now, one rather large one was bordering on grey! Temperature dropped then but it's back up now, with some cloud up there. We've got 10% chance of rain this evening/night which will be good for the plants. The local river's about 1'6" lower than it should be as well, not flowing over the weirs :( (the River Bradford, not the Wye in Bakewell itself)

I've just realised, I no longer seem to have a outdoor thermometer in the greenhouse or on the shed. Nor in the house either . My phone app suggests 25.1C but I don't know if that's an average for this area, as the garden is roasting, I've just been into the greenhouse and spotted that several of my potted up cuttings have been scorched, probably killed by the sun, even under fleece to protect them from the direct sunlight, whilst attempting to go through the conservatory is not a good idea, the handles of the doors and windows are too hot to touch and even with the windows open, the temp feels too hot to survive for more than a few seconds, literally. There are clouds over the valley walls, but overhead there is not a cloud in the sky. Probably in excess of 40C but can only go by the fact there is no air in the conny.

Wall to wall blue skies and very bloomin hot, matching sunburn now, front and back But I'll get a tan if it kills me, at least another week of this glorious weather, make the most of it, schools break up shortly, so then it's all downhill?
