It reached 92F here as well. I was going to do some mowing but by the time I had dug up some more crocosmia, did some tidying up and picked another 10lb of beans I was just a wet dishrag!!! :phew:

Been very hot and sunny all day, had a smattering of cloud about 4.30 (very welcome), but clear blue skies and late evening sunshine now, getting cool quite quickly tho'.

I nipped out about 1.30 and the car settled at 31C.

Our high today was 29c, 27.4c at the moment so rather pleasant. However, t'other half took the wheelbarrow (an industrial type) up the lane (200 meters) to the 'lixo' (rubbish) to remove the tree limbs (Jacaranda and Mioporo) I had cut down (he had made the cuttings smaller to get into the wheelbarrow) and was soaked when he got back so a wee bit humid.

We had a two-hour soaking last week but nothing in the forecast for September now. :frown:

We are threatened with some heavy stuff for the next couple of days, with temperatures dropping on average 10c too....

Just in time for my gathering on Saturday. Nice. :frown:

We were promised rain this morning but it's been bright and sunny all day, 17C. Heavy rain due tonight but looking out there now, I think not.

For the first time in at least fifteen years we're on a low water warning and have been told there is no high rainfall for the foreseeable future. The levels on our two major reservoirs are down, one to three quarters full and the other two thirds. That might sound okay to those of you on the mainland but for the island with a population of 80,000 it won't last long.

had total sunshine all the way from Swanage to Battle this morning - got to 28C around the back of Brighton. Clouded over here now and the barometer is dropping quite quickly, but still warm this evening,
            Jenny

Steady rain since around 3am, and no signs of it stopping anytime soon :(
