Was extremely hazy earlier - daybreak - but can now see right down to the Liverpool skyline (about 8-9miles away). Ground is still damp though I don't think it rained during the night :noidea:.

As the ground will be very wet, I may have another go at dragging out the Berberis Roots today, though may have to give them an extra soaking first.

Having had heavy rain and high winds all week this morning was a different picture. With a certain amount of humidity I woke to fog and not even a twitch in the trees. The fog has now cleared and left a gloomy, damp day which is supposed to brighten slowly and take us into a good weekend. We'll see!

Some local flooding here, particularly on the roads. We drove out to Keswick, there were some wet roads out! The sun has started coming through now, hopefully we can get a walk in tomorrow :)

At the moment, it's clear down to Liverpool and can easily make out the backs of buildings that 'front onto the Mersey'. There was quite a lot of cloud earlier, but these are clearing fast and I can see patches of pale blue sky; looks like the makings of very pleasant day with not a breath of a breeze outside.

Ooooh I now see shadows forming on the pavements - so the sun must be shining through just out of sight of where I'm sitting .

Expecting an 'overnight visit' tonight from my lovely 5yr old granddaughter - 6 next week - so need to find somewhere to go/something to do with her tomorrow. Thinking caps on ...........................

Thursday was the only day of rain we have had in more than a month. It rained for a couple of hours but nowhere near as heavy as they had forecast.

Friday and Saturday topped 20C but the sun didn't appear on Saturday.

This morning we have bright sunshine, not the hint of a breeze, the garden looks crystal clear but the fields are totally obscured by mist and it's a bit nippy at the moment, 50F.

Wall to wall blue and 9C. Looks as though it will be a lovely day. Hope so, friends coming for lunch and a nice walk later is planned,

What a grand day, spent the morning in the garden pottering round. Table booked for 3.00. at a local restaurant for 11 of us to celebrate a friends 75th birthday - great place in lovely gardens. Also nice as the normal lunchtime will be over and we get the restaurant to ourselves.
