Lots of ice outside this morning. Currently 0c, it's dark but the sky is clear....brrrr!

 

Currently -1 and starting to rain...that's a good combination

 

Slight frost 2c sky is cloudy but may become clear soon

It was gorgeous today. Warm and sunny and 10 degrees. Had a wonderful afternoon in the garden. Can't believe rain and stormy winds are forecast for tomorrow.

It's been, literally, freezing here. Heavy frost has remained all day from last night, one of the two ponds (the one with no fish & no pump) is iced over. It's been a lovely sunny day here but thick fog at the in-laws where we've been all afternoon

 

Nice enough day, but the storm's just come back

 

Best day in about a week here, full sun all day and no wind, burp! sorry.
About 7C so not too cold.

After a calm sunny day, the island is currently being hit by a severe gale building to storm force overnight and for most of tomorrow.

 

We had a drive to the coast( with the top down) to walk along the promenade at Bexhill on sea yesterday (Boxing Day) - it was sunny and warm and we sat and ate mini sarnies of turkey and beef and drank coffee .It was so busy with folks of all ages "taking the air" - kids with new shiny scooters, bikes and dogs having fun on the beach. I would never have dreamt it could change so much in less than 10 hours to how it is right now.
Also noted trees, branches , fence panels down or seriously leaning - also a few more trees that I'm certain won't be upright by the end of this day. The ground is like plasticine ,

We've got a yellow wind warning here issued by the met office and blimey is it wild out there this morning. It's 8C and it's howling!
