    and this is the way up to my greenhouse;

      Been snowing steadily for most of the day here, we now have an inch or two of wet snow lying, so nothing compared to what some of you have.
      One thing noticeable here is that the temperature has actually dropped since first thing this morning, at 8am it was 2·2ºC according to my weather station, currently it's -0·1ºC and falling.

      Just to cheer you all up, I've been trawling through the weather thread for this time last year, makes interesting reading.

        It snowed during the night and the wind blew in from the East. But even so there was very little snow on the ground and none on the roads. My car had just a bit of snow at the bottom of the windscreen and that was it. This area of Cheshire has been affected very little by the heavy snowfalls forecasted. The wind has been bone chillingly bitter cold but it has stayed dry although grey.:coffee:

        Well you all probably know by now, we've had a few flakes of snow here on the island!

        A fairly dry day today, with the occasional snow flurry, 3C. It's presently trying to snow again, but our local forecast says we are not due anymore. That said, we were told to expect a lot of rain yesterday, so who knows! :)

          It seems the usually mild areas got hit worst yesterday; (Merseyside, North Wales, West Cumbria, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man), along with of course, the cooler areas like Leeds, Huddersfield, and Northern England in general.

          Surprising to see so many areas that usually don't see snow, get a lot of it.

            Used to notice that when I lived in Northwich, Cheshire Stephen, the Cheshire plain used to miss a lot of snow but when it did get it got it big time!!!

            Here, yesterday we had snow all day, but only light and it wasn't really mounting up, we had about 2 inches on the ground but it was melting off the paths and roads all the time so not bad, BUT during the night it came down heavy and we have a 3-4 inch covering over everything this morning and its still snowing now.....

            Our back garden this morning

              It's very still out there and looks as though the light covering of snow (only a couple of inches) is frozen solid.

                Every where white over - covered in snow today - but after what Sheal has experienced I am not complaining. Although I do so want to get out there in the garden, but at least mine looks like all the other gardens down the street.

                  Light at the end of the tunnel?, perhaps?, maybe too early to say but the sun IS out here and there's some blue sky, the snow is melting fast even though its still cold, but its a big improvement on this morning :) :dancy:

                    Grey, bitterly cold, with the odd snow flurry here today. Nice to be indoors.
