Another frosty/icy start here but the o'nght low was only minus 3 degrees [minus 2 just now at approx. 8.00am] with a predicted high of around 1 or 2 again. To be a repeat of the last couple of days with some sun and some cloud.
Yesterday was the same , with a high of 1 degree. No wind to speak of, so fine for a good walk, but a bit chilly on the hands for the garden stuff I did.

My lounge was 12 degrees today @NigelJ, as I hadn't bothered to set the heating to auto, but it had kicked in beacause I have the low set at about 13. It's fine now - it's got to 15 degrees.

First proper frost overnight, -2 in the greenhouse so maybe -3 outside. Frosty but no snow. Blue skies, sun is coming, might get to +6c

Snow covered garden and on rooftops over yonder, road out the front looks icey and the bird feeder is VERY busy. OH put apple on feeder just watched a blackbird chomping away. No volunteering yesterday our friends messaged to say ‘stay in Don’t drive down’ A few made up bundles of greenery ready for the 2 Wreath making workshops coming soon. Keeping and eye on the weekend weather @AuntyRach were travelling up to Newark-on-Trent sat until Tuesday might start off Friday now. Take care all .

It must have been very cold over night because the butts and birth bath were frozen! I had to defrost my street cart’s bowl and the birth bath.

A glorious sunny morning, blue sky big fluffy white clouds. Very chilly. Ideal for a walk on a beach.

Cold but sunny with a bit of breeze this morning. It's been a bit windy overnight so no frost on the ground.

Minus 4 inside the greenhouse last night, the ice on the pond is thick enough to walk on. We had half an inch of snow, with more forecast tomorrow.

Cold. Theres still some frost and snow dotted about so I hope the sun breaks through a bit more as it’s been a bit lame so far this morning.

The house is cold and because it’s an old house with high ceilings, we tend to abandon the main lounge over Winter and hibernate in the ‘snug’ instead. I might try the heated blanket throw today, which I’m predicting will be covered in the cats as soon as they sniff it out!

It’s temperatures like these we are having that remind me not to try and be clever with buying plants not suitable for our climate! Been there and bought the tee shirt in the past. That said we have had an incredibly dry spell so at least plants will not be sitting in frozen pools of water.
We were -7 oC last night so well below freezing even IN the greenhouse but my evergreen Agapanthus will be fine as in virtually dry pots. They survived -17oC in 2011 so not concerned that they will conk out now. My only concern is my 25yo Eucalyptus which bought it last October when crashed into by a 200 year old Silver Birch during a gale. Both trees were removed by JCB and now stacked for the log burners! The Eucalyptus has miraculously sprung into life from the stump. Whether the new growth will survive is debatable. I have covered it with 3 layers of fleece so fingers crossed for the old bu..er!

My my my. It is 48f 7c and no snow, no frost and not cold. Did we all fall into a vortex and swap weather "normals"? I have yet to scrape the windshield or see frost on the lawn. It is supposed to be a rainy day but I have some waterworks that I want to play with outside anyway so it doesn't matter to me! ;)

We were completely frost free and really lovely for this time of the year @CanadianLori until about 3 days ago when we swapped the south of France….well not quite, for the Arctic. Poor plants never know what the hell is going to hit them. Only lifted my Dahlias last Saturday and even then they weren’t frosted. Oh boy anything which was still growing ain’t now and just had a job and a half getting the greenhouse door open ( iced up) as very sunny so the temperature inside the greenhouse is now quite warm which I don’t want to be encouraging anything to grow now!

Early this morning we had a flurry of snow showers, but now it's sunny and a gentle breeze from the north west temp 3c feels like -1c.
