What's your Weather Like November 2024

Always a tense period when we get a gale from the West/S West. 82kmh gusts at the moment Hate, hate, hate gales!

 

Nice and sunny here, 19c with a hint of a breeze.

 

Windy and wet! Gusts of 120kph, lots of rain and 13C for now. However, getting cooler as the sun starts to slide down the wind will swing to the north and make -2C feel like -10C.

Not gardening weather apart from rescuing more potential victims into the polytunnel for the next few frosty nights.

 

Had a -7c in the allotment overnight, maybe 3c lower then my garden and the forecast a mile and a half away. Surprising difference a frost pocket makes

Looks like we are going to get rain rather than the promised snow this afternoon

 

Its been a grey cloudy old day, cold, only 3c, but no wind so felt a bit better than it sounds.
There was blue sky on the horizon to the North and that's where it stayed all day until around 3pm when the clouds thinned and it brightened up just in time to see the sun go down behind the houses out the back.

So I suspect another clear frosty night.

 

We have an Amber warning for snow and ice, possibly over 2 foot of snow in the hills and glens with half that at lower levels, hatches battened down!

 

It's been dry all day but just had a dusting of snow, it wasn't expected. Temp 0c feels like -5c with a gentle breeze from the west.

Mostly clear over night but cloudy now, light snow possible in the next couple of hours apparently.

Another frosty/icy start here although it's still a bit dark to see properly what's out there. O'night low of minus 2 [minus 1 just now at approx. half 7 am] with a predicted high of about 2 or 3 degree again. It may drop back as it gets properly light, which is often the case. Supposed to be mainly dry, but it depends on the forecast you look at.

Yesterday was ok, ie dry and bright, until later afternoon when we had sleet/snow for a while. The high was 3 degrees.

We now have thunder and lightning, and high gale force winds, happening tomorrow as well as snow...apparently....
I'll just wait and see.

 

Snow still glistening around our garden,very cold ! 2c have resorted to my extra warm jumpers now. 2 big piles of prunings to put in the green bin today , last round next Monday. Feeders are busy can see the Blackbird feasting on the apple outside.

 

Snow has gone but we're getting lots of hail showers instead so everywhere is still white. 7c forcast for today, 15c for tomorrow!
