It's 16C and still have winds around 60mph. I can't check for any damage out there as it is too dangerous to attempt it with all the trees we have. It's fascinating watching 70ft high trees waving around in the wind whilst I'm sitting nice and comfortable and warm.

The upside to this is that nearly all the trees have now lost their leaves but the willows are still hanging on to some of them. The summerhouse roof is covered in them as it is close to the willow and I shall need to work out how to clear them. Hopefully when it dries out they will get blown off otherwise using a blower from a ladder might help. Then we can clear the gutters.

Heavy rain and gusty winds from the south south west temp 14c feels like 13c
It's surprising from last week about the temp.

A cloudy, windy start here. The o'night low was technically 1 degree, but that was from before 9pm, as the temps rose to 12 degrees through the night, with lots of rain and wind, which then removed all the snow/ice/slush. Bizarre. 7 degrees just now [approx. 8.25am]. It's to be mainly dry and windy with a predicted high of about 9 degrees.

Yesterday was wet/sleety, then the snow came in. It only got above zero in the afternoon, and stayed like that, with the high of 1 degree, before becoming misty/foggy in the evening, with those temps rising later on.

15/16°C all night, very windy and wet. Wind should ease by mid morning, but rain continues until this evening.
One panel of a neighbours fence has come for a visit, and a couple of plants have moats around them.

All calm at the moment, rain has stopped, a slight breeze. Think tonight will be windy but a dry day is promised. 12c.

What a day yesterday! Strange to feel the warm air during a storm and see condensation on the outside of some windows. Heavy rain persisting today.

Saturday. Storm Bert lasted all day and night. Very strong wind and torrential rain.
Today there is a short break at the moment but much worse forecast to come.

The worst part of the storm was first thing this morning. The rain was almost horizontal on the front of the house. We have a large brick gable area above the bedroom window and so much rain ran down and soaked in that it came in above the bedroom window. It was just overwhelmed by rain. Now it's almost stopped, but still very windy.

Lots of leaves are evenly spread out over the garden. They are too wet to be blown into a neat pile.

Very warm outside at 15c. This will make the lawn grow.

Just been in the park, as I got out the car there was a massive crack in the woods behind.
It's dangerous out there, we kind of had a wind warning but I'm sure it's a fair bit worse than forecast, it's been going for nearly 24 hours now and they say another 12 before it drops and a dump of rain to come yet.

Was wild and windy overnight, luckily no fences down that I can see. 50mph winds now, very mild at 15c.
