Torrential rain all day yesterday and overnight, still continuing . Woken up at 7 ish by the wind howling round the house - not nice at all. Only damage so far is a row of small pots with violas blown off the outside kitchen windowsill. My fault, I'd forgotten about them.
Forecast is continuing torrential rain up to 8 pm tonight - lovely, not.

Yesterday's rainfall was 23mm, and the temperature rose through the day and didn't drop much overnight. It did get quite windy but it's dropped now.

Today is brighter with occasional glimmers of sunshine, and it feels distinctly mild at 10C. It's dry at the moment but there are showers/light rain in the forecast.

Can’t get away from it folks it’s gusty, wild and wet here in Newark. Gets dark early around 4 so must brave it and have a drive maybe over the River Trent way. It’s even stormier back in Wales lots of flooding.

When feeding my street cat, I saw that neighbour’s paper box and plastic bags were at the end of the road. How careless to leave them out unprotected. I quickly collected them before they cause damage. The second collection box was nowhere to see. On the way back, the wind was so strong I had difficulties to hold everything and myself straight.
We had a time window from the heavy winds at 10 and quickly went to M&S for a coffee and cake. Just arrived at home when wind speed and rain amount increased heavily. How lucky being back on time and a sunday cake in the belly :)
Rain will continue all day, hopefully that wind will ease out soon.

It is cloudy and this morning was the first time I've seen frost. It was on the roof tops, and melted off as soon as things got a bit brighter and it is now 38f 3c. The guessers say we're going to have a wet day but we'll crawl up to 44f 6c.

But I don't care what it does out there, this is my Corrie and baking morning

Strong winds and persistent heavy rain last night and the previous night - the sort of weather that makes too many people say 'What storm?' because they slept through it. (How? It was noisy!) The stream flowing across the surface of the field next door has stopped taking a short cut across our drive but isn't yet back underground where it belongs.

An unseasonal high of 19C and lots of sunshine :) It's breezy but even the wind is warm so ideal for pottering around in the garden :yahoo:
