What's your Weather Like October 2024

Calm and sunny for most of the day with cloud for an hour or so early afternoon. 13C/55F

My grandfather always used to say a short cloud cover coincides with a tide turn. I've just checked the tide time here for today and it appears he was right.

Thick cloud with a breeze now. Allegedly dry until the weekend here.

 

Not raining right now but the ground is wet so been raining in the night.

Another cloudy start, although there's a mix of sun/dark clouds just now, depending on which window you look out of. O'night low was 8 degrees [9 just now at approx. 8.05am] with a predicted high of around 13 0r 14 degrees as it's [yet again] supposed to be sunny later. Not holding my breath....

Yesterday was cloudy all day, with only the odd blink of sun, and most of that came in the early evening. The high was 13 degrees. A spit or two of rain in the afternoon, but it passed overhead.

The rainfall stats. are always interesting to see in various areas. Our last two Septembers have been different in terms of rainfall, but that's the thing about averages - some years are wetter than others. Last year we had 150mm, and in 2022 it was just over 100mm, so this year was drier by comparison. August made up for that though.
Those two months for this year have been a total of 337 mm. Last year was 241mm, and in 2022 it was 187mm. Wetter each year.

A lovely day yesterday. This morning is overcast, ever so slightly milder. Hopefully it will brighten up later.

 

Overcast but dry and supposed to stay like that today. 15c

 

Just drizzle today then clearing up for next few days and we will get sunny intervals at last. I reckon it has been our wettest ever September here.

Did stay dry yesterday here as at the Gardening group we help out at we all sat in the sun having a natter and a cuppa before weeding, pruning and all that even discussed ideas for our Christmas Craft stalls we hold in the Hospital . Cloudy , breezy and not too cold 13c .
