I had a look yesterday when we can expect this combination the next time and it's the 5th of February and the 11th of February due to the earth rotation axis.

"Earth's axial tilt is about 23.4°. It oscillates between 22.1° and 24.5° on a 41,000-year cycle and is currently decreasing."
        Milankovitch cycles - Wikipedia
"The angle of the Earth's axial tilt with respect to the orbital plane (the obliquity of the ecliptic) varies between 22.1° and 24.5°, over a cycle of about 41,000 years. The current tilt is 23.44°, roughly halfway between its extreme values. The tilt last reached its maximum in 8,700 BCE, which correlates with the beginning of the Holocene, the current geological epoch. It is now in the decreasing phase of its cycle, and will reach its minimum around the year 11,800 CE."
"The current trend of decreasing tilt, by itself, will promote milder seasons (warmer winters and colder summers), as well as an overall cooling trend. Because most of the planet's snow and ice lies at high latitude, decreasing tilt may encourage the termination of an interglacial period and the onset of a glacial period for two reasons: 1) there is less overall summer insolation, and 2) there is less insolation at higher latitudes (which melts less of the previous winter's snow and ice).

Today and tomorrow were forecast to have heavy rain and moderate winds but it has now changed to light rain and fresh breeze for today and sunshine tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

I hope that if any of you are in the area where they say the storm will reach 80mph shall be OK. :fingers crossed:

It's been dry overnight, and the low was around 8 degrees, but my little temp. gauge isn't working, so not sure what it is just now. It was 10 degrees when I came back at 6 am after taking daughter to work. Rain on now, and winds are ok - in the 40s, so fairly normal for here at this time of year, but it's tonight that's to be the main problem as we're forecast over 60mph ones. It's to clear up in the afternoon and be brighter, with a predicted high of about 14, bu that will be knocked back by the wind.

Yesterday was lovely as it stayed dry and quite sunny all day after a poorer start. The high was 13 degrees. Windier overnight.

Turned out to be a pleasant Autumnal day yesterday, come this morning 12c , raining and the trees and shrubs out the front are wooshing about. Colours of gold, yellow , orange and some reds everywhere changing seasons what’s not too like .

Last night was still with a lovely moon. Then it went hazy.

We're getting our 40mph winds now. They seem to be in sudden gusts. Then it will be heavy rain later this morning.

This spell of bad weather will disappear to give us sunny intervals this afternoon. Mild.

Tomorrow looks to be great with full sun. A good gardening day.

It’s miserable here and the forecast has slightly changed so the stormy winds are due this afternoon now, although with minimal rain.
