A few bright spells but mostly cloudy, odd spot of rain in the wind from time to time.
It touched 20c earlier, but mostly around 18 or 19c.

As forecast we have complete cloud cover now & as well as for the rest of the day. We have had a couple of brief, light showers but very little wind. Temps haven't risen about 12-13C here today - even yesterday we managed 19C! First proper day of autumnal cold & I already feel fed up! :rolleyespink:

From midnight we are forecast rain for at least 20 hours! The skies are not expected to clear before 9pm tomorrow evening! We are in a yellow warning area for heavy rain & strong winds - but that warning covers almost the whole of England & Wales!

It's been a warmer start to the day here than it was yesterday. At 6am this morning we had 17C whereas at the same time yesterday we had only 11C! But tomorrow we are forecast only 9C at the same time!

Last night I heard it raining from 11.15. I woke up several times during the night and each time I could hear the rain! It must have stopped somewhere between 6 & 7am as when I put the drops in my wife's eye at 7am it was no longer raining but the balcony floor was still very wet.

I went out onto the balcony later in the morning and emptied out an old soup plate that I use to put under 1 of the pots as it was overflowing with rainwater! A good 2 inches apart from whatever spilled over the plate! As the rain can enter at least a foot inside the balcony it had filled the uppermost 2 plates in a stack of plates I hadn't moved further inside the balcony yet.

We have got another yellow warning for heavy rain and strong winds from 4pm this afternoon. But the alert covers the entire country from the Midlands down to the south coast except for north Wales.

We are forecast a very cold night and even colder but sunny day on Sunday!
