:yahoo: Finally had a 15 minute downpour at 3ish then some drizzle, but it has been very windy all day. High was 22.5c, now 19.5c and wind has died down with 91% humidity so maybe we will have a little more. :fingers crossed:

Only a few VERY light showers during the morning but some long sunny periods during the afternoon. Now we are waiting for the rain to begin in earnest tonight - from about 9pm till 5pm Friday! Overnight rain was too little to bother about but with all the rain forecast on Friday I haven't put the Cyclamens back on the balcony railings - I may wait till Sunday.

It's been a wild day here. The wind started to pick up last night and by lunch time it reached gale force with showers of rain. Having shopped in Inverness (14 miles away) it wasn't a nice drive home with the weather worsening. There's no major flooding here but lots of water and debris from trees on the roads. Late afternoon brought heavy rain which is starting to ease now, but there's more wind and rain to come tomorrow and throughout the weekend, 10C/50F.

When it eventually decides to calm down there will be plenty of leaf raking and tree debris to burn in the garden.

Our village has grown in stages and the power supply is different for each stage, last time we lost power for a couple of days, tonight some of our neighbours are without power and are having an early night, still very rough out there.

Yesterday turned out not too bad and it was quite mild and a few attempts at rain but they didn't come to much. So we were able to get some gardening done. It rained during the night and according to the forecast we are in the middle of a thunderstorm now but someone up there forgot to look at the forecast. Mild and dry at the moment. :fingers crossed:

                        Morning all

Today we have rain, rain & yet more, you guessed it, rain! It's forecast to last another 12 hours yet as well!

Here in Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, we are not accustomed to so much wet stuff falling out of the sky for such a long time!

Although the yellow alerts were all cancelled, for Huntingdon, they were later reinstalled. So we are under one for the next 24 hours.

At present it doesn't seem to be raining as I can't hear anything. At 2.15am I had to get up for a few minutes & it didn't sound as though it was raining much but it did seem like it was dripping rather than raining. At 5am I woke up & it did seem to be raining. Now at 6.10am I haven't heard any rain since finally waking up at 5.45am.

It's quiet a warm start to the day here with 14C. Max today is expected to be about 15C. There maybe some bright spells towards the end of the afternoon.

We had showers at various times after our afternoon burst and had a total of 11mm so the ground/shrubs are liking that. Currently lightly overcast, 16c going to 22c, temps now lower than normal. no rain forecast for today but forecast for next week.
