What's your Weather Like September 2023

Storms here, quite windy and very heavy rain from the east.

Stairlifts are good for people who have difficulty. I put (an Acorn) one in for my mum. Used ones are far, far, far more reasonable than new, eBay for £100 or thereabouts.

Straight stairlifts are easy, the track just screws to the treads through supports along its length, and as long as the track length is long enough that's great. The stop on the top might need repositioning, though, which is dead simple, I had to do that (it left about 2' of unused track at the top, which I could have sawn off, but didn't).

Curved stairlifts are a different matter (with the exception of modular ones, parts available used again eBay, acorn again is an example). Manufacturers are loathe to make the necessary components available to support a "used" market, because that wil eat into their profits, which considering the price of the things must be fantastic.

The price and profits of mobility/disability equipment absolutely stinks.

 

We haven't got the storm it's just very windy with light showers.

Good morning everyone

A warm start to the day but also very cloudy. At present we have 15C which is expected to increase to a max of 19C during the afternoon.

It's been a windy evening & night and even now the wind continues to be strong - though nowhere near as bad as in N. Ireland, NW England or Scotland.

The clouds may produce a few light showers of rain during the day but we will escape the majority of storm Agnes here in East Anglia.

 

And they were wrong again - Agnes never arrived. Nothing new there then !

15c cloudy but dry, last night was a bit windy with some rain

 

Very dark this morning, not checked the temperature but it's not cold.

Are you getting plenty of help...I really hope so.
Each time my sister had hers done I went and lived with her for a fortnight until she was feeling more able to cope with her every day routines and more importantly gained confidence in managing the stairs...but that took her over a week to achieve.
Take care...and don't do anything unnecessary........things can wait.
