Heavy rain all day, made the mistake of looking at the forecast - it's just rain, rain, rain.

We had some rain yesterday and overnight, 5.5mm in the gauge this morning, but today has just been cool and dull. Tomorrow's forecast is warmer (max. 24C) with some sun, then back to grey but dry. If it's going to be cloudy it might as well rain and do some good for the garden .

I can only judge by a bowl I have on the ground (1 inch),the water butts increased by 10cm on either side = 30mm

Like Escapement, BBC shows rain every day until the 18th.
As I said last week, this week is the turning point. Autumn has arrived.

Here in north Kent, we got very little rain today. I was hoping we might refill the water butts. It was not to be.

I've got 11 mm in the rain gauge for today most of that came in a heavy shower mid afternoon.
                  Its just very damp now.

I've been wearing my fluffy dressing gown around the house for the last couple of weeks, and I've put the winter weight duvet back on the bed.

I agree totally. If the clouds are going to make it gloomy, they should also make it worthwhile!

Our high of 32c at 3 o'clock, now 25c with a fresh breeze. We had lunch with long-time friends visiting from Windlesham here about 10 minutes from us ...

Had a nice day fishing in warm and dry if a tad windy and overcast at times, but I was a 1000 feet up in the hills, so not a bad day at all.

Although it's been a dull day it was warm and dry.

Have been out this evening - walked 2 miles to a local community meeting and it was very mild. Still 18c in the GH with the door open.

Tomorrow is going to be a roaster with full sun and 25c - I'm getting my deckchair out now ready. We are so lucky with this weather.

Feeling very sorry for those down south getting a soaking!
