Loads of rain today with more due overnight, then a misty morning to follow as the air will be saturated and humid.

It was hot, hot, hot here too! Well 25c and very humid, which makes a lot of difference. A lovely day. Sat outside for lunch then has an ice cream later to cool off. Had our sun hats on.

It is still 17c at the moment and very pleasant if outside. It was a shame to have to come in as it is dark.

I think we will get everyone else's rain here tomorrow and Sunday. But we really need it.

          Good morning all.
It had stopped raining around lunch time yesterday. My bowl on the ground had now 5 cm of rain yesterday evening.
I woke up at 1 today from the noise of heavy rain.
It will be dry today with eventually a chance of a few minutes sunshine. The BBC forecast rain from tonight over night.
Currently 15c, goes up to 19/20c.
The predicted rain for our area until the 18th by the BBC was corrected to sunshine with clouds and a few rain showers now and then.
The predicted heavy rain coming from France heading to the Belgian/French/German border on Monday has also been corrected, and flood warnings taken off again. Instead, the rain will move from the north of Italy into Switzerland but has be been downsized to a 90l rain.

Another misty/cloudy start today. O'night low of 14 degrees [14 just now at approx. 7.25am] so very mild. The predicted high is around 19 to 20 as, again, it's to clear and be quite sunny. Light breezes again too.

Yesterday was certainly very warm @simone_in_wiltshire, thank you! The sun didn't appear until midday/early afternoon, when the mist and cloud gradually started clearing away. Very hot, the high was 21 degrees, but there was a nice breeze. I still had to sit in the shade to do some of the jobs I was finishing, but it's always nice to have a few good days at this time of year. September is often like this, but usually with much cooler nights, and not such high temps through the day.

                        You'll be relieved about that @Victoria !

I think it's the swings of temps and weather that have been more common over here in recent years that are causing the difficulties with gardens. I get the impression many parts of Europe, and beyond, are experiencing that too, sometimes with pretty horrific consequences.
Just in the last few weeks where I am, we've had single figure overnight temps, down to about 6 or so [not unusual at all] but we then get temps in the teens for a few nights. That's not the usual process at all for the time of year, because temps would normally just lower gradually as time goes on, just with the odd slightly higher temp. The sunny days wouldn't be as hot either.
It certainly makes the plants confused, never mind ourselves.

Too true fairygirl. I wouldn't say no to a little of your rain please. None on the horizon here although they are having a little up north.

Ironically, we're having a nice dry spell just now @Victoria , but I think there's some in the forecast for Monday.
A bit of dampness would give your garden a sigh of relief. It's amazing how just an hour or two of light rain can just freshen everything up, isn't it?

It’s still misty here and I’m not sure we will see any sun today. There’s more heavy rain and thundery showers forecast for tonight and tomorrow. At least it’s not cold and raining.
